Do I have navigation??

I just bought a used 2011 sport and it comes with the touchscreen. I have the "Nav" button on my screen and when I press it it shows my location, but when I press the back button, and then address, it says "no map data available". It won't recognize poi or anything. So I'm not sure what all this means.

When I bought the truck, they said it didn't have Nav. So if it doesn't, that's ok, but if it does, that's an added bonus.

Also, I got my build sheet from Chrysler and this was on it:
RHB Uconnect 430N CD/DVD/MP3/HDD/NAV

Well, I feel I do do to. But when I go type something in it says no data or whatever. And I I hit find gas station or police.....nothing. I was thinking that maybe the system was wiped or something and I need to download or install a disc. I don't know. I've never had navigation. It's all new to me.

The truck didn't come with an owners manual either.

You definitely have navigation based on your build shhet and what you're saying.

Could the data somehow have been erased?

Not sure if there's a "reset" button that may re-boot it...

I'm sure someone with more know-how will chime in, in the AM.

No, the navigation i believe has expired when owners were changed

i believe that you need to call
RAMTRUCKS contactshttp://www.ramtrucks.com/webselfservice/ramtrucks/index.jsp

before you call, get your VIN# & mileage
they always ask for it

ask for a BUILD SHEET
ask for an owners manual
ask for everything, except an island in the Bahamas

explain what you would like to have & they will do whatever they can

if you have a NAV button, then your MYGIG radio has maps

you may need the 3 letters on the face of the radio, lower right corner

RHR
RHB
RBZ
RES
are the common radios,
if you have a RHR or a RHB, you have Navigation maps
if you have the RBZ, then they all are TOUCH SCREENS
the RES is not a touch screen radio

Its the RHB, so that's awesome! I will contact them.

If you have the RHR or RHB, both a have Navigation mapping

push the NAV button/ MENU/ Where am i now
also after clicking the NAV button
you can click the face in profile speaking
then say
DESTINATION ENTRY
it will ask for Country/ STATE/ or a bunch of other things
reply STATE
then it will ask to verify
then it will ask what town/city
say something like Dallas
it will again ask for verification
then it will ask if you want to name a street
just say NO, unless you want a particular road
it will again ask for verification
then ask if you want to enter a street address

etc. etc. then it will ask if you want to start routing
say YES
after it starts routing you click on OPTIONS
make sure all the little squares are un Checked

otherwise it will route you through Russia or some other forsaken place

any other questions that you may have, just ask, i am sure i can really screw things up for you

If you are in RADIO mode, click on that same face in profile,
it will ask about 5 questions
just say, SELECT NAME
then it will ask for a station name
just reply
NASCAR
it will verify

if you have Uconnect
click on the PHONE button
it will again ask several stupid questions
If you cell phone is paired with Uconnect properly
just say DIAL or if you have a phone book,
say the persons name as how you have it stored in your cell phone
it will again ask
home/cell/business
tell it whatever the contact is under
again it will ask for verification
then dial or call that number for you
Thanks for the info! I'm still trying learn this thing - proving difficult without the manual - but I did manage to pair my phone, lol.

I thought the navigation was not a subscription but rather software installed permanantly into the radio that just required updating.

#20 · (Edited)
^^^This is correct.

OP, since you have an '11 you might want to look into a nav update that is available. It costs about $130 from Chrysler/Garmin. If you live in an area where new roads and/or housing developments are popping up regularly, then it is worth updating to the latest maps. This is true where I live and even the latest '12 maps are missing info from near me.

I just called costomer service and they weren't much help. He said it sounds like I need to go to a Chrysler dealer and get an update. He didn't know why it was saying no map data.

So I'm thinking I'll have to pay for some service. Got any idea what an "update" costs at the dealership?

#11 ·
It's not an update you need. An update implies that you have a working navigation and you're wanting an update to your current [out-of-date] map's capabilities.

You need the ENTIRE navigation software installed [or re-installed].

Yes, I think a call/visit to a Chrysler dealership is the correct step.

#13 ·
Yeah, I don't think it's an update needed, I need the whole software in my opinion as well.

I feel like I bought a truck with navigation and it should be working so hopefully they will just reinstall it, but I'm afraid I'm gonna have to fight off an attempt to charge me.

like i typed, call CHRYSLER CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE

you need your VIN# & mileage

ask them for an owners manual & Build Sheet
the dealerships have NO effin clue

they all drive FERDS & TOTOs

#15 ·
I thought that I had already typed that I took your advice. My bad, yo. I got my build sheet already. I called with VIN and mileage at the ready. He informed me that I would have to purchase an owners manual, not be given one. We then tried to figure out what was up with my Nav, and just like dummy #2 At the dealership, he too was perplexed. I didn't bother asking for the Bahamas at that point. It was early in the morning, and I'd had enough. I just figured I'd try again with a different approach.

SOLVED!!

Turns out they had deselected the map pack. I was just playing around with it and figured it out.

Here's how I got there for those interested:

Go to settings, select Map, and right next to the "restore" button there's an "info" button, select "info". The box next to "OEM Navi...." was empty, so I pressed it and BAM! I'm a straight up navigatin' pimp!

I don't know how I didn't come across that earlier, but if you want to know what I was experiencing, uncheck that.

#18 ·
Bonus for you! So you bought it used I take it? That's why they sold it as not having Navi.? Anyway, cool :)
