Question ND Offroad "Parks"?

Im in the Minot, ND area, recently moved here , and was wondering if anyone knew of any offroad parks, or any random places that are fun to do some offroading at? I'm fine with an hour or so drive, btw.

The whole state is farm country... LOL.

Well, except for the "new" oil fields....

hahaha, very true, but I want to get muddy, not just ride through some random field.

Are there any decent auto salvage yards for pickups out here in ND?

Most of the land in ND is privately owned. However, Teddy Roosevelt National park has gravel roads and trails. There are tons of unimproved section line roads that are really untraveled trails between sections of land. However, most local residents that use these roads to move crops and agricultural equipment during dry weather take a very dim view to those (even locals) that rut them up when it rains leaving them in bad condition when it dries. During dry weather these roads are fun to drive but be on the lookout for slow moving vehicles! If you are a hunter or fisherman you are in paradise. Lake Sacajawea is right south of you with some of the best northern pike rising in the world. Crappie and bluegills populate many of the larger lakes. Ice fishing is a blast. Pheasant season opens at sunup on the second Saturday in October. You are located on a major duck and goose flyway. Coyotes are a blast to hunt during the winter and will give you your fix of offloading in the snow in the winter when roads won't be damaged. I think you missed this years drawing for a deer or antelope license. You are a lucky man. North Dakota is what made Teddy Roosevelt a man and is a great place to live if you have the right mindset.
