My e-brake doesn't hold my truck at all. the cable has a good amount of slack in it. The problem is I can't get the nut to turn in order to tighten the cable. What do I need to clamp onto to hold the entire unit in place so I can turn the nut to tighten the cable? Thanks for any help you can give.
First off, spray some penetrating oil all over the nuts and threads and let it sit for quite a while. This should really help loosen them off. Then hold the assembly with a vice grips and turn the nut.
