For the love of god, please, please don't lower your trucks. There was a 2012 Ram today that clipped a curb going through a drive-thru getting a coffee. The truck looked like it had special needs...
I don't have a preference with lowered or lifted, my truck is 2wd and lowered, as long as the owner takes pride in his truck and has some work done to it. Call me funny, haha, but I can't see leaving a vehicle stock, suspension or otherwise and getting it lost in a parking lot
well said. Usually when people dont like something of mine or say I should buy a chev or something to that extent I tell them they should buy me a chev or whatever it is that they would want me to have, then I'll drive it, usually shuts them up pretty quick. Each persons truck is an expression of themselves, like I said I dont have to like something other like or believe in but I generally keep it to myself. This thread was created to stir up some controversy I think

I think you can go to extremes either way. Bottom line = It is up to the owner. If I like it, O.K., if I don't O.K. It's not mine and I don't have to drive it. I have entertained the idea of lowering the back of my 4X4 because I don't like the looks of the excess air space between the tire and bed. If it had been an axel over instead of axel under, I would have already put 2" lowering blocks in the back. My son, on the other hand, suggests torsion bar keys to raise the front 2". We have friendly discussions about this from time to time. It is just a matter of preference, but, like I said...........it is up to the owner.
One thing I love about being the owner of MY vehicle is it leaves ME options. I had a Dodge Charger with 26's lambo doors the whole 9 yards and now Im lifting this 2WV Dodge Ram, And I grew up in a ranch. It's all Preference and what you as the OWNER think about your truck. No one tells people how to raise their kids if they do, they usually dont listen so why do the same to someones vehicle?
If I say your truck looks good when I think it looks terrible, I'm a liar; so you won't get that kind of response from me.
If I say your truck looks good, that is 'MY' opinion based on 'MY' taste.
Same holds true if I tell you your truck is 'Not My Taste'.
I have been know to say "WHAT did you do?? That looks Awful!!!!" But I've only ever said this to someone that knows me well and understands that I'm expressing 'MY' opinion and am not lying for the sake of their feelings. Around my city I have many friends that come to me ask what 'I Think' of their latest mod and they expect me to be brutally honest; after all they have already heard the 'Looks Great' from 10 people that were puking in their mouths.
I have and will never say something negative about someones vehicle for the purpose of offending them or hurting their feelings. I have and will continue to express 'MY opinion' for the sole purpose of constructive criticism. If I don't think the person asking can handle 'MY opinion', or I simply don't know the person, I will not comment any further than 'Not my taste'.
Having said that, lowered trucks are 'not my taste', but I also need to qualify that. I should say trucks that are lowered beyond a certain point are not my taste, as there are a few lowered trucks on this forum that 'I' think look absolutely fabulous and are welcome in my driveway any time. Included but not limited to are CdnOilRAM and BlackRamHemi. These are 2 lowered 4wd trucks that I hope one day to see in person as the pictures just don't give me enough to see and I would like to express my admiration to the owners in person so they know without a doubt that I am being 100% genuine when I extend my comments of praise for a job well done.
I like the look of any well taken care of truck.....be it Ford Chevy or Dodge. MY personal choice this time was to go 2wd and eventually lower it. I love InDeepWaterBlues truck!
But I like a great looking lifted truck too. I love cars and trucks in general and can appreciate the time and attention someone puts into a vehicle to personalize it.
