Is anyone else having issues with the inside rear view mirror staying in place? If I leave mine parked for a day or two in begins to point down and reflects the back seat and not through the rear window. The longer it sits the worse it is. Is there any way to tighten it that anyone is aware of? Thanks
Known issue, many have the same problem, if you do a search you will see your not alone, and no there is no known fix, some have had the dealer replace the unit, some just get in and re-adjust each time.
It's the heat/cold. The plastic expands and contracts so it slightly moves. If you notice when it's cold it's a little harder to move and during the heat it's easlier.
Had mine replace a couple months ago and the new one still does it. Tired of waiting for a fix so I wrapped a small piece of coarse sandpaper around the end of a screwdriver and roughed up the round part that goes into the back of the mirror while changing the position of the mirror so I could get at it better. It's been a couple of days and I think it worked. You will be able to feel right away that it is harder to change the position.
Had my truck in for service a couple weeks ago. No fix for the mirror yet. They didn't even try to put another mirror in because they said it would do the same thing.
Well it's been over a week now and a little sanding on the round part that goes into the back of the mirror worked. Hummmm maybe I created a TSB for Dodge :thk: One minor annoyance taken care of
