Well guys i just went on leave ( army time off if you didnt know) and i decided to go ahead and paint my grille. I want to go with the sport look so i also ordered a sport front bumper thats on its way, but thats another thread.
SOOO. heres how my day went.. Went down to Shucks/Orileys and picked up some paint supplies. Adhesion promoter, primer, paint and clear.

Enough talk heres the pics.

supplies

Going to the dentist to get her grill fixed lol.

preping, i had to move the project inside the house because it was too cold, and the paint didnt want to stick and almost started to run, the wife was SUPER HAPPY about this idea lol.

primered up, i used 2 coats of adhesion promoter, and 2 coats of primer, 2 coats of paint, then 3 coats of clear

Cutting to the end since the middle is pretty much the same.

Waiting till the morning to install it and take pics. if it didnt get dark at 5 i would have been done already.

hmm, well thats not fair, when a man earns REPS he should be able to recieve them, no matter how awesome he is, and how often he does REP worthy things.

i was actually going to do that, and paint the badge white as well, but i wanted to see how it turned out first before i did it, and now that its done i dont want to mess it up by going back again.

They cant ever get perfect match, it isnt like Dodge uses one paint provider. They get paint from many suppliers under the same name and mixed in different machines in different places. After being in a body shop for years I can tell you w/ certainty most cars have 3-6 variations of the exact same code and color name....and the VIN and jamb decal tells which to use.
So with all of this being said, well done, that is as close as you'll likely get w/ rattle can.

Looks great. Couple of questions: How long did it take to get the overspray out of the house and how long were you on the couch after painting in the house??? LOL

well the wife came home 3 hours after i was done...Instantly she was like "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT SMELL" it wasnt too bad though. Nothing worse than a running paint job. i'd do it in the house again and again.
