What are some good choices for a CAI and/or filter for a 2008 Dodge Ram 4.7 liter?
I am headed back to Iraq in October and will be taking several trips (first from Fort Leavenworth, Kansas to Fort Benning, Georgia) before I leave and know I am going to put some serious miles on my truck before I board the plane.
I'm curious also. I'm thinking that anything would be better than the stock air box though. As with most motors I have ever modified getting rid of the air box and replacing with an open element filter usually has good results.
BFI from AirflowInnovations! Great power gains, comes in a range of colors, built from steel with a lifetime warrenty, many different filter color choices. You can't go wrong with it! Heres a Patriot blue, red, and black intake in the Ram. It will fit 4.7L and 5.7L alike.
I heard good things about the new powercore filters from Volant that use the same dry filter system that the diesels have been using for years. They claim the highest filtraion levels (99% and up to 2lbs of dirt) as well as increased HP/TQ gains (up to 20HP). They even have two dodge ram kits that tie into your SRT hood scoop or a fog lamp. http://www.volant-intakes.com/
Do you know which FOB your gonna be on? I am on JBB but we are the only unit of our kind in the country so we stay at different fobs when running missions.
