Got my flashpaq today, updated it, programmed my truck for fuel mileage. Went for a little ride put on about80 miles. With stock settings I was getting 14.7 mpg after installing fuel save mode I am now getting 12.3. What the heck did I do wrong?
First off do not trust the overhead. After any flash, chip, module, the overhead will be off more then usual. You need to hand calculate your mileage to see what you are actually getting.
What he said... ever since I had my 4.7L SCT tuned my overhead seems to work the opposite... At WOT it tells me Im getting 30MPG and under light throttle it tells me Im getting 10MPG... Its all over the place and clearly wrong... LOL
The strange thing is... every once in a while it appears to work correctly...
OK maybe I jumped the gun. I was calling this programmer everything but red. Guess I'll give it a week or two before making a descision. Thanks for the help guys.
Hey how does that overhead work anyway? My truck's still more or less stock and it's telling me 12ish mpg but I'm getting 16 and change when I do the hard calculation after filling up.
try clearing the trip miles in the overhead ,not the one on the dash, each time u fill up, and see if that zero's it in closer for you....just a thought . i cant use mine at all with oversize tires, it reads way off all the time...
otherthan that , just make it a habit to right your beginning and ending milage down every time you fuel, thats about as accurate as u will get
