Default Tow rating

How can I determine the axle ratio of a 2006 Ram 1500 QC SB 4WD 5.7L V-8? Trailer Life towing guide shows the following tow capacities:
7500lbs for a vehicle with a 3.55:1 rear
7400lbs for a vehicle with a 3.92:1 rear, and
8500lbs for a vehicle with a 3.55:1 rear
I cannot locate the build sheet if there was one. The trim level is TRX4 if that is of any help.
I need the information as I'm considering buying a travel trailer and need to know what the truck's towing capacity is.
Thanks for your help.

Not to be a jerk, but generally if you are thinking about tow ratings, you probably need at least a 3/4 ton. Don't get me wrong, I can tow my 5th wheel behind my 1/2 ton, but I certainly would not recommend it. It really depends on the trailer. Look at tongue weight. then look at the GVWR, of the trailer.

For the hauling capacity, you take the GCWR and subtract the curb weight of the vehicle, and an additional 1000. That should give you a rough estimate of the haul rating of the truck. Most of the 1/2 tons can haul up to a 6000 lb trailer, but be advised, that if you are going up hills, that won't be a happy trip.

Thanks for your comments! I wanted the "official" information so that I could make an informed decision as regards a trailer.
It was suggested that I contact a Dodge dealer, provide the parts dept with the VIN and they could give me the axle ratio in the 2006 RAM. I did, and they did! Thanks Cumberland Valley Motors!!

The quickest and most accurate way to find your tow rating is to look on your drivers door sticker, which will give you the tow rating of your truck. This is key, because the tow rating is based on a number of factors, of which gear ratio is only one of and so the info on the door sticker is based on the build of your truck. It will also give you the GVWR of your truck. If this helps, but you still want or need your gear ratio, you could ask a dealer to look it up with your vin#.
