Thought I would start this to help answer a lot of questions. Please don't post in this thread to keep from having page after page that somebody has to read through to find an answer. PM or email me with any information you have to fill in the question marks, add, or correct any information and I will update this post. If you have any year model dodge and know what size wheels and tires came stock on it, backspacing, bolt pattern, etc., what size tires and wheels you have on it now and what you did to get them to fit leveling kit, lift, spacer, etc let me know by PM or email. For example just shoot me a PM that says: 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 4wd, stock 275/60R20 bolt pattern 5on5.5 backspacing 5.5", currently running 35x12.5R20 to make them fit you need 2"+ leveling kit and 1/4" spacer. If you have a really good picture of it email it to me or if you have it on this forum send me a link and I'll post it to give people and idea of what their truck will look like with x year model dodge with x lift and x tires.

2012 1500 4x4 Laramie, 33x12.50R20 Toyo Open Country M/Ts on stock wheels. I added 5/16" wheel spacers all around, No lift and No level. VERY VERY slight rubbing on upper control arm. You can't hear or feel the rubbing but if you look at the tire and control arm they have a small spot thats always clean on the driver side.

Hi everyone. So I've seen alot of questions on the 09 and newer rams but not many on the '12's. I know the rear suspension is differnt then years past. What I'm looking at is a leveling kit and some dick cepeck 33 13.50 18 the rims i have in mind have a 4.5 inch backspacing and are 18x10. should work, correct? or do i need to go with a 33 12.5 instead of the 13.50

#103 ·
dick cepeck makes a fc 2 thats a 33 13.50 18 like the look of the tires thats why i was wondering. but can always go with a 12.50 just thought I'd try and push my luck ;) but being its a new truck i dont want to trim anything to avoid rubbing so i guess its better safe then sorry. thank you for the info

This thread has been a great source of info! But, I still am a little unsure about what to do as far as offset (don't entirely understand it)...

What I want to do is purchase the Rough Country 2.25"/1.5" Combo Kit. I am going to purchase new wheels and am thinking of staying with 17" (18" not out of the question). Another member here did this lift and put 305/70/17's on with no issues (but I don't know his wheel offset). Also, I am having trouble finding that tire size, so I was thinking of doing 315/70/17's.

So ... what do you guys think? Will those tires fit ok? What wheel offset should I be looking for? Thanks in advance!

rim offset

Need some help. Right now im running 35x12.5r20 on my 2010 dodge ram with a 1/4" spacer with stock rims. I want to get a new set of rims and I want them to stick out a little more and not sure on the back spacing or offset I should get. Oh I have a Leveling kit and a 1.75" body lift. Thanks for the help.

It will depend on how far you want it to stick out of your fender.....
5" backspacing should be a minimum to look at. It will be more tucked (still sits out of the fender about 1"-1.5") than a 4.5" backspace wheel.

So, you need to ask yourself, how much do you want it to stick out? Do you want to run flares? If so, what kind of flares?

Example: I have a 20x9, 0 offset/5" backspace rim on 37x12.5 tires. I stick out about 1.25" from the fenders. But I will be running 2500 flares which should have my wheels flush with it.

Hey guys, buying my rims this weekend, I bought myself 37" terra's witch I believe are 13.5"-14" wide, also doing a 6" rc lift, any opinions on what off set I need? Not trying to stick out like crazy, but also don't want to use spacers. Im buying the 20x10 fuel off-road throttle rims, thank you in advance for the help

So I have read this thread from front to back, there is a lot of great info on here that answered almost all of my questions. I just want to make sure my new tire purchase will fit my current set up. So here it is...

2007 Big Horn 4x4 with the factory 20x9. I will be adding the HBS 2.5 level up front, (I want to keep close to an OEM look just a beefy leveled appearance) I was going to get the 33x12.50r20 either Toyo OC M/T's or Nitto Mud Graps, I know you need spacers for 35" but I dont like the stuffed look with the leve. Will I still need spacers with the 33" tires? If so do I need them on all 4 wheels? If I dont need the spacers can I still put them on the rear without causing any issues? (I like a little poke).

Thanks in advance guys this forum has given a first time truck modder alot of good info on everything. Time to get out of the shadows I guess and start getting some pictures up!

i was looking at nitto terra grappler AT's in 275/65/r20. i think that comes out to about a 34.1. i was wondering if i could to bigger?

thanks, looking to purchase the wheel/tire combo today or tomorrow so feedback will be great guys

just bought these rims and tires. Moto Metal 951 Gloss Blk Machined 17x9 -12mm offset and then the tires i wanted which are Toyo Open Country M/T 35x12.5x17 Excited to put these on my 2009 ram 1500 with the 3.75 combo kit from roughcountry. this should work no promblem right?and now for my question i have airbags in the back of my truck. came with them when i bought it used. i was wondering if i lower the air in them if i would get a nice sag in the back when i hit the gas.( im into the back a little lower then the front)but i still wanna get full height, because i no when i get this kit on the front will be lower still but i was hoping to be able to get it level by taking air out of my bags. Also heard you can take out the 1.25" back supension block that the rough country kit comes with in order to get it leveled. does anyone now anything about airbags and if so how much height you can get with them? mybe a range with no air then maxed with air. thanks.

Hey guys. I am looking to lift my truck 4in here in the next month or so, and I have a question about tire fitment. I have a 2002 1500. If I lift it 4in they say I can fit 35's but I was wanting something wider then a 12.5. My truck is stock right now and fits 33x12.5's. I was actually wanting to go with a 36x15.5R20. My rims are -12 offset already. Think this would fit? A bit of rubbing doesnt bother me as long as its at full lock. What u guys think?

im sorry

ive read through the first 8 pages of this and tried using the search and reading lots of info... work with me here, i have a 06 ram 1500, I jumed the gun and ordered rims and tires without finding out if they will fit properly or if i will need a spacer or anything. so i have a 2.5" rough country leveling kit to install already, and just ordered the xd800 misfit 18x9 5x5.5 black rims (backspacing of 5 and offset of 0) and just purchased today the nitto terra grapplers m/t 35-12.5-18. will this setup work without spacers and not rub?

I've narrowed it down and am pretty sure about running 18x9 -12 offset rims. And soon to pull the trigger on 37's because why not. But now I'm stuck on tires. Nitto trail or toyo oc's.
I'm leaning towards the toyos but I've been to both nitto and toyos websites and saw toyo makes there 37r18 in a 13.5 wide while nitto has the 37r18 in 12.5 wide.
I'd like to run the toyo but am curious about that extra inch with the rims and offset I want to run. Any input would be appreciated.

Honestly fast I'm just piecing it all together now so I don't mess it up when I put it together. I have the bilsteins already but going to be getting the rcx 6, fuel rims, toyo tires and more down the road. I'm pretty sure DAP will hear from me soon, I just don't want to look at the bill haha.

I have a question.. I have a 05 (4x4) running 305/70/17 on stock rims. I have a leveling kit and 3" body lift sitting at the house waiting for me to get home. I plan on getting a set of 17x9 XD Series 797 Spy ( 4.50 in. Backspace / -12.00mm offset ) with that set up, could i run a set up 36x13.50 iroks??

OK ..I have been looking everywhere and I must be missing something I thought I read a while back before my life got complicated again and I had to take a break from the pc.
I was sure I read that someone put Toyo Open Country 35 12.50 20s on stock rims with bilstein 5100 adjustable height shocks at max height and they had no rubbing issues? It was on an identical truck to mine except it was black I thought. I have the 2012 Ram 1500 QC 4wd Express. With the stock tires I have 40 inches to center of fender from ground on the rear and 36 1/2 on front stock suspension.
If you know for sure this works or does not work, I could use a heads up cause I am ordering everything tomorrow. The shocks, the tires, new Y pipe, and Mufflex 18.
Sooner the better on the reply :) thanks much guys and gals.
