I'd say if you have grounded one of the cylinder heads that would be as good as grounding the throttle body....but, I'm open minded on this. why do you think it would help? I'd say a 14 guage wire would do the job if you did want to add this one more ground strap.

I seen guys doing it on another board,so i was curious if anybody had done the wiring upgrade and added one to the throttle body too.
I'm sorta like you Juma,i would think grounding the engine accomplishes basically the same thing, but i'm thinking for the amount of work it involves, curiousity would make a guy try it,lol.
My little 4.7 uses a phenolic style throttle body, otherwise i'd give it whirl.
Are you up for it?

just looked at my 3.6 TB and its bolted to plastic all the way around. so, yes, it might work better with an extra ground. I'll wait for a warm day to try it.

Is the throttle body aluminium on your 3.6 Juma?

The later 4.7 uses a plastic composite based throttle body on a plastic composite based intake manifold.
I have nothing to ground to on my 4.7's throttle body, except bolts that do nothing but run into a composite intake, aarrgghh, lol

I saw this on a charger forum a while back so I did this "mod" a few years ago on my v6 charger. There was no difference in performance or fuel economy the slightest bit. Luckily I had the wiring around so I didnt waste any money.

Try it on your truck then, and see if you notice a differance.
I've been around a couple of later model trucks that have done this mod,and every one of them is reporting some benefit.
Don't discount the mod, because your V-6 Charger didn't see any gains.
The engine in your truck is working under a lot differant circumstances

I did this today. Didn't see a ground going to the strut tower on a 4.7L 2010, so I used the bolt on the alternator that the cables pass over and ran that to the battery ground. Should ground out the engine none the less.

I used the factory battery terminal clamps because the dual ones I bought were painted and didn't look like I'd get a good connection with them. I'll look for some non-painted ones.

I'll report back any MPG gain if I have one over the next tank. I don't have EVIC so it's all hand calculated for me. It cranked over just fine, I can't comment whether or not it was improved.

Original OP and myself used 6GA wire. I'm not sure how many strands. I just asked for 6GA from my parts store. I used about 12-13ft on my 4.7.

I had to trim the fuse box a little to fit the new 6ga wire through there. I just used an razor.
