Default Funny or odd firefighting stories

Hey just wondering if anyone had any odd, weird or funny firefighting story??? Looking at some of threads and thought it would be fun to start this thread

When I was volunteering we were on our way to a bush fire. We had an older smaller Dodge tanker which was used for bush fires. It was a loud 440 hemi with tonnes of power and everyone loved to drive it. We were going code3 in a pumper following it when we heard over the radio that something was up with it and was losing power. The truck started to smoke and my colleagues pulled over. The truck caught on fire ;/ so imagine the look on people passing by watching firefighters putting out a fire on our own truck. Not something you see everyday

Brings new meaning to the term fire truck

Ok so you didn't like that one......... I'll try another

There was this guy who caught his wife cheating on him with another local resident. That local resident owned a Bearing business in downtown Timmins. The guy was so upset that he lit the business on fire and drove up to the fire department and waited. When the firetrucks responded he rammed the firetruck to ensure the business was not saved. How's that for nutty??

Nutty is one word... can think of a few others a little more harsh.

It was a 1977, What would have it been a magnum? I believe if I remember correctly it was a 7.2 liter. It's been over 10 years since I've seen it, you got me curious why I thought it was a hemi....... :/

We ran a house fire in our neighboring town the night of our county convention- the woman who lived there lit the house on fire and was sitting in the back yard on a lawn chair when we all got there. When PSP got there and arrested her, she became very upset and started trying to kick the windows out of the cruiser. Then her son arrived, went after the cops, and was also arrested.

Also, one night we had just returned from a gas leak and were washing the engine in front of the station, when we heard sirens racing around the blocks around the station. About that time, the sirens stopped just up the street, and one of our guys yelled "hey guys, there's a crash up the street". As we looked up the street, the boro K9 officer (and dog) came running past the station; as they passed, a male subject came out from between houses across the street, and ran into the alley next to the firehouse. Needless to say, the individual was being chased by the police, crashed in the area of the firehouse, and then ran on foot. As far as I know, I don't believe he has been caught yet- afterwards, we decided that with 6 of us standing there, we probably could have taken him if we had thought a little quicker
