Just went over the 90,000 mile mark last week. Only major issues I've had are broken exhaust manifold bolts (3 times repaired under Dodge the factory Lifetime Engine, Transmission and Drivetrain warranty) leaking front struts replaced at 80,000 miles, lower control arms -ball joints replaced under recall/warranty at 45,000 miles.
Both rear door lock actuators have failed and won't unlock. Waiting for a nice spring day to pull the doors apart to fix those. 3rd brake light leaked slightly and caused bulbs to fail. A light coat of silicone sealant fixed that.
Always used Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and change the oil every 5,000 miles. Did a transmission flush service at 60,000 miles.
Almost 91,000 and I'm finally replacing brake pads next week.
2009 Ram 2500 and just about to 223k!!! Love it still makes tire smoke when hammered upon. Only issue is the damn wiring for the rear doors and tie rod ends that love to go out
Just pulled my right rear door apart and found that the wiring that goes from the cab to the door had broken. One wire was for the lock and the other was the sense for the dome light. Soldered up the broken wires and all is working as it should. Left rear does not illuminate dome light so I am assuming that the wire is broken on that side also.
Not a 2009, but 168K last week on my 2010. Not bad so far - differential and exhaust manifolds have been the main issues, both repaired more than once. Beyond that, I was sailing pretty smooth, and then in Jan of this year, I went through a water pump, front axle seal, thermostat, oil pressure sending unit, another leaky pinion seal and trans cooler lines - all replaced under the Max Care warranty (best money I ever spent btw). Plan on running my truck to 300K if it'll get me there.
My 2009 HEMI powered Ram 1500 now has 137,000+ miles on it
The power steering pump is starting to squeal
Windshield was just replaced, due to blowing sand crossing the desert
I have replaced transmission filters twice now, should never have gone back to Mopar fluid, acts a bit funny since changing from Royal Purple.
Because i run my headlights all of the time, the drivers side low beam burnt out one time, so i replaced both low beams.
Pinion Seal has been replaced 3 times, one time was just a bad installation
All fluids have been flushed out at least once
Belts & hoses are still original from the factory

My 2016 Ram 1500 diesel with 400 miles, is at the dealership, it has been there for a couple weeks. I had told them that i needed some things done to make me happy
Passenger rear door needed adjustment
Steering wheel had a small cut in it
I was not happy with the tailgate paint, it had some paint flaws that were tall enough to snag a microfiber polishing cloth on
They fixed the door without questions, they said that they would replace the steering wheel, they are seemingly balking at the paint fix. They keep asking the dealership for more information & pix
I have 121K on my 2009 Ram 1500 4X4. Just put a set of BFG All-Terrains and Bilstein Shocks. Only issue I had was the heater vents/flaps stuck in the cold position 2 days after I bought it so the dealer made it good and fixed it. Another issue was not being able to pass CA emissions test, there was a hidden code about the catalytic converter. The dealer had to "re-flash" the computer and its been great ever since. Love the ride I get from this truck, and the new BFG tires are super quiet on the highway, great for listening to XM Sirius instead of road noise.:smiley_thumbs_up:
my 09 has 152000 miles on it and has had some big and minor issues. first around 30k the manifold bolts were broken but didnt get repaired to 50k dealers were shitty. then at 40k the shift solenoid on the tranny went out warranty replaced, 60k head and cam replaced due to lifter failing, 120k camshaft sensor and solenoid failed replaced under warranty except sensor which cost $200, then now at 150k shifter will not stay in park even with key out of the ignition, front brakes have no abs activation brake pedal sinks to floor, tranny bucks like a mule when shifting under light load from 3rd to 4th, exhaust ticking has returned and loss of power with it, codes have been pulled by a code reader for p0174 p0171 p0503 but the check engine light does not come on. the truck squeaks like a mother flipper and the radio can hide it.
overall this truck has had many issues and most people would dump this truck. with 152000 miles on the truck and a lifetime powertrain warranty. I still love this truck and will never get rid of it. even if it breaks the bank fixing it, its my first new truck and have kept it going for a long time and one point I put about 50k in one year. I will never get rid of this truck.
mine just hit 200K and I have done: Manifolds, MDS solenoid, brakes, tires, plugs, Water Temp Sensor, Coils (because one went bad). about to switch out deck to touch screen one because mine is not switching stations and lights are going out. Also adding lock to tailgate.
I am now at 140,000 on my 2009
The 2016 Eco-diesel is now set up for my business & it gets 26 mpg
That is the reason i am selling the 2009, it gets 17 mpg on a good day
There is nothing wrong with the 2009, except that 3 nights ago at 1:40 am someone hit the drivers side mirror with something like a baseball bat.
New body colored mirror was ordered for $214 from MoparOnlineParts, they are out on Long Island NY
122k miles on my 2009 when I pulled the original engine and transmission to put in a Hemi. The original engine and transmission were working fine with no issues. I tow with the truck several times a year and use it as a second vehicle or when going to get lumber. Interior and exterior have held up great. I would buy another if needed. Mine is the pretty basic SLT trim with EVIC. Only thing I wish it had was factory backup camera and possibly more comfortable seats. I tried after market cameras and they kept fogging up the inside of the lens.
Hay I have 2014 Laramie actuly ahave problem with my air suspension some times the left side lower then the right side and the opposite side. Also some times it doesn't work till I tourn off the car and run it again
Well here is my 2009. 127,000 km.
Start with the big one...new motor 5000km ago, piston skirts chipping and flaking caused two cylinders to go down...same side as the broken manifold bolts.
Trans cooler lines X3, pinion seal X2, sway bar links, BD actuator X2.
Current issues....stuck in 4wd lock and esp light on, front end wobbles when using 4wd...had two alignments done and now its worse.
one more pic.
really like the truck and hoping that with no warranty it doesn't start to cost me a pile of money.
got my wheels back this am.
Stuck in 4wd fixed...TIPM wire was shorting out. 2 hours to fix.
I have quotes for almost $4000 bux worth of currently needed repairs and it is only 3000km off warranty.
I'm the 2nd owner of my truck, I now have 98k on it and other than maintenance it hasn't needed much, somewhere in the 70k mile range the trans solenoid pack was replaced and since then I have replaced the clutch fan due to it being weak, I serviced the diffs and t-case, service the trans and filters, replaced the t-stat and coolant (just based on mileage - no problems with the truck) and a few days ago replaced all 16 spark plugs, the exhaust plug wires as well as 5 coil boots, it is a great truck and I plan on it running well over 200k, I just wish my warranty wasn't up in less than 2,000 miles but such is life, I have done a few other things with the truck but not really maintenance related just personal preference, like I said, its my 2nd ram and deff my favorite, all in all a great truck and the biggest worry in my mind is keeping rust off of it.
