Picking up the new truck next weekend when I get home. Here's what's ordered as of now.
Starting with a 2012 Dodge Ram R/T
I'm having real hell finding the wheels I want to fit the way I want them to so it's getting these for now while I search. These are temporary...what I want will probably have to be built and is gonna take a while.
Tires are Pirelli Scorpion Zero in 305/35/22
Of course it's getting lowered so I ordered the McGaughy's 2/4 drop kit that I'll modify for about a 3/5
Can't not have shocks...so I went with single adjustable QA1's
Seems kinda silly to do all that work and leave stock sway bars on it...so Hellwig's are going on front and rear.
Don't wanna do all that and have a spongy rear suspension with rubber bushings...so I called up Spohn Performance.
Adjustable panhard bar.
And better upper and lower control arms.
And last but not least...SSBC's 14" front brake kit with 4 piston calipers along with matching slotted stock size rear rotors.
That's the suspension list for now. I want rear SSBC calipers but those are a long way out so stock will have to do for now.
Stereo/interior will be the second big part of the project followed by underhood show mods then motor mods. I need to call Billet Technologies this week...I'm gonna basically order their whole catalog for this truck.
I'll tig up my own y-pipe using mandrel bends and the Magnaflow Y....everything else should bolt right in.
I'm gonna use v-band clamps at the head pipe and just behind the converters to make it easy to drop for trans work in the future. I'm sure this thing will have a few transmissions in it once I get the blower on.
OK I lied...found a few minutes to kill today so I installed my electric fan and 180* t-stat.
It's an OEM Dodge V6 fan. With the AC blowing it seems to maintain 185* even sitting in traffic and a degree or 2 cooler when driving.
I also have an 11" tall, 58" wide aluminum chest type tool box out of another truck. It's called a 5th wheel box, made to go in the back of the bed but be low enough for 5th wheel trailers to pass over to the hitch. I wanted it in the front of the bed but it's too deep and wouldn't clear the inner fenders so I cut the front corners out, swapped them side to side and inside out to make recesses to clear the fenders then TIG'd it back together. I dropped it off with my body shop friend to be painted the same PS2 silver as the truck. I think it'll look pretty good color matched and sitting on the Bedrug.
I'm old...I like to have a place for a real jack, tools, cleaning crap, etc.
After spending the last 2 1/2 weeks working like a dog...it's time to start playing a little bit.
Here's Friday's project:
Next weekend will be ceramic coated JBA shorties, build a custom y-pipe with Magnaflow mandrel bends and Y plus a Magnaflow cat-back system.
Stay tuned...here I go again...
From whom did you get your break kit? are you replacing both front and rear? What size are they? How much was the kit? are you also replacing your lines? thanks in advance

It's a 14" rotor and 4 piston fixed caliper up front. The rear for now is just a matching rotor, no calipers are available yet.
I also got a braided brake line kit made by Russel (spelling?)
I ordered this through my friends at Performance Truck Products in Tomball, Tx
As far as pricing I'd rather not discuss that. They take good care of me, that's all that needs to be said. I've known the owner for years and he helped out on past builds.
It's not a sponsorship as far as its laid out on paper and I promise certain appearances and such.
It's more along the lines of they know the shop will get exposure when I get done with the truck. I've done many magazine shoots with past vehicles and I know quite a few guys from all the major truck rags...chances are this one will be shot sooner or later and PTP knows they'll be the only shop listed in the article. If I would have had a little more time to work on it it wouldda gone to SEMA this year for one company....PTP's stickers would have been on it for that too.
What I'm building now isn't what's getting me the prices I'm lucky enough to get...it's what I've built in the past that's helping me now.
Massive failure on the SSBC install. The parts in the kit supposedly for this truck simply don't fit.
The rotor is 5/8" further out than the stock one. The caliper touched to top of the rotor when installed and also touched the bolts that mount the rotor to the hat.
After all that my wheel wouldn't even come close to bolting on...it hit the caliper too.
I talked to and sent pics and measurements to SSBC...they're gonna mock up that kit on a new truck and let me know what they're gonna do to make it right.
On a brighter note I had the oem lip kit and rocker extensions ordered...should have those next week then figure out how to fit them on a single cab truck.
Here's a shot from a magazine photographer friend of mine I saw at a race today....He's pretty good with a camera. I can barely take a pic with my stupid phone. lol
It's all stock right now, I just painted the calipers since they were already off the truck.
Hopefully SSBC finds a quick resolution and gets me the needed parts soon.
On a side note...has anyone ever noticed that the rear rotors are bigger than the front?
I found that kinda odd.
Damn happy I ain't ordered those yet, nice of you to do the R&D on those for us before we order some LOL, still sucks to take the time to put on a nice mod and end up having to remove it.

It definitely sucked to have to take it all apart and put the stock stuff back on. I had to do the back twice too since I changed to matching rotors back there and had it all back together before I started the front. I can assure you R&D was the last thing on my mind. lol
