Default Speaker Upgrade

Installed JBL 938 6x9 $79
JL Audio TR350 CXi $59

the JL Audio went easy no issues at all
Following the You tube video removing the door panel was easy.

Only problem with the JBL was the mounting screws did not line up with oem
Three lined up okay one I had to drill out and install mounting screw
Crutchy sent me the wrong speaker harness so it took me an extra 20 min to monkeying around the speaker wires.
Overall it took 2hrs.
Difficulty Easy

Reward ......Much improved over OEM well worth it

Next will be 3 Channel Amp /Sub

I have also put the JBL 938 in the rear doors. I got them after reading this:

I had some Kicker 40CS6934's in there. I was not really happy with the highs, they just sounded kind of thin. So I swapped in the JBL's and compared. I'm going to have to agree with the reviewers in the above link. They sound way better. They are a 2 ohm speaker for starters so they work with the stock Alpine amp very well. They are quite a bit louder than the Kickers.
Next thing I did was to put some JBL 329's on each side of the dash and disconnect the center dash speaker. (You need to trim off the collar that sticks up on these things so they will fit under the dash covers. The plastic is quite soft and easy to cut, I just used a fresh hack saw blade.) These are a perfect match to the 938's as far as output and the Head Unit front to rear balance is pretty equal the best I can tell. They are also very good sounding and actually bring quite a bit more bass to the front.
I would rate these two changes as adding a MASSIVE improvement to the stock Alpine system.
I already had the 10" Mopar Kicker Sub installed and the JBL's really blend nicely with it.

Thanks for the review on the JBL's! Looking at using them in doors and dash.
