Default Air Horn Install

I've had everything for awhile but I'm planning on finally installing my air horns tomorrow so I figured I'd go ahead and start a write up for them for anyone else who might be interested in an inexpensive kit.
Most kits you see are around $400 with the compressors being usually $150 or more of it.
Not being able to afford that I started putting together my own pieces minus a compressor.
I was planning on just getting a pair of old horns from my dads work but unfortunately the scrapped all of the trucks three days earlier.
I started looking around for horns, listened to alot of sound clips and found these:http://www.assuredautomotiveproducts...ACHRSK-106.htm
They have triple trumpet horn too but I liked the sound of the double trumpet better (most others the triple trumpets sound better)
It ended up working out that the brand new horns and solenoid were $50 shipped when the solenoid alone was $30.
For the air tank I was looking at 5 gallon portable tanks from Harbor Freight. Being christmas time I found a craftsman tank on sale at sears for $25.
It'll be a bit of a pain haveing to fill the tank up myself but it shouldnt be to bad. Playing around with the horns a good 15 second blast dropped the pressure from about 75psi to about 71 psi (planning on running 125psi)
My plan was to have a quick connect on the tank so I could still use the air chuck if needed. The connect leaked so that was scrapped (I keep a small portable compressor in the truck anyhow)
So maybe another $15 for a momentary push button switch, and inline fuse, 30A relay and some hose I have this:

I made a switch mount off of the trailer brake controller from one of the many broken hockey sticks I have for the push button switch (decided to keep it separate from the regular horn) I'll get a picture of it when I can.
With the 5 gallon tank under the tool box in the bed tomorrow I just need to mount the horns, probably under the bed, and do the wiring.
The website I got the horns from doesn't list the amperage of the solenoid

I hooked it up to an 18v drill battery and was getting about 3.6-3.7A without any pressure through the solenoid so 16 G wire should be more then enough for this (along with the 25A fuse and 30A relay haha)
Hopefully I have more to come tomorrow!

O and here's the horn installed on another truck for a sound clip:

The beginning makes me laugh every time. The horn sounds really similar to that (video sound usually doesn't do justice) but it is MUCH louder haha

I got them in today! I was a bit crunched for time so I didn't get any pictures but there really isn't much to see, just a bunch of wires. I'll try to get pictures of the switch, where/how the horns are mounted and the tank under the tool box(talk about an interference fit)
Not the best quality but I do have this

Its been raining ever since I got back to school so I havent gotten pictures of where there mounted or anything yet.
They're a ton of fun. There not extremely loud but they get the point across very well. I beeped at everyone I saw one the way to school and got tons of waves!
They really came in handy as a car came flying up on my right side and tried to squeeze between me and the car I was passing. As soon as the girl got right next to me I hit the horns. She just followed the car I was passing after that haha

Well it's only taken six months to get pictures of everything lol
I just have the tank wedged under the toolbox, I tried taking it out to paint it and can't even get it out

I mounted the horns just infront of the passenger side rear wheel, not sure it's the best lace but it's convenient

I made a little bracket for the switch from an old hockey stick and mounted it to the right side of the brake controller

Mounted the relay off an existing hole in the battery tray, the thicker red wire I the inline fuse for it

And in 6 months I still haven't been able to make it to fastenal to get real air line. Suprisingly the cheap stuff has held up to 115 psi in 20-30 degree temperatures
