Default 11-12 Fan Removal

I love the idea of being able to remove the big clutch fan and run with just the factory electric fans, but the 09-10 guys are using a programmer to adjust the turn-on temps. Since the 11s and 12s are not supported by a programmer, has anyone with an 11 or 12 Hemi pulled the clutch fan anyway? Results?? It's not my daily driver, nor do I tow with it.

I wouldn't recommend it, as there would essentially be no fan (unless the AC is on). The stock electric fan only runs when the AC is on, or once the coolant reaches 222 deg F (on the verge of overheating).

You could probably do it if you swapped in a 180 deg thermostat, at least in the cooler weather!

You could always install a flex-a-lite fan or something similar after pulling the clutch fan. They usually have adjustable thermostats to work with what you need.

Unless you were just looking for a freebie. Try it and let us know what happens.

You could do it and make sure to keep an eye on your coolant temp and if it gets to 205 or above then kick on the AC compressor and then the efan will be running.....sort of a round about way but it'd work (that's essentially what mine is but the fan will come on automatically...)

I was thinking about running a secondary adjustable fan controller to the stock e fan. That way it would turn on with the a/c or when it reaches a certain temp. or Im also looking into running an after market push fan completely separate. still doing research so haven't decided which yet.

When it's a 100* do you drive without a/c? If not.... no controller necessary!

I do...the only time my AC is on is if I am sitting in traffic, start sweating, and am going to something work related (can't get all sweaty in work clothes). Also on long highway trips (say 1 hr or longer...).
