I have an appointment next week to have the recall done on my truck and it is sitting in the driveway until then.
Does this also affect the 2500 series with the Cummins? My bro-in-law has one, it's also a 2010. Just wondering if he needs a heads up.

I was told there is not a single replacement part available in the US due to the extent of the recall.
For me, that means I'll be down at least a couple months until they get some parts to Germany.

No love from Chrysler with furnishing a loaner. It seems on top of a potentially fatal (not even exaggerating) mechanical failure, I’m on my own with a rental car.
“Not covered under warranty repair” is the guidance they provided for rentals. It’s not like I’m dropping it off for an oil change. The least they could do is hook me up with a loaner for the next 5 weeks (estimated parts availability).
Anyone know of any other avenues of approach for the situation?

I got a letter a couple months ago regarding the recall. Still waiting for another letter to tell me the part is in so I can get it fixed.

Been waiting 8 months for the parts to come in! Long time Dodge supporter here but I've lost faith in Mopar over this and other issues. Ford is now my choice.

Default recall

I took mine in for the recall for the problem that causes the drive shaft to fall off and they keep telling me that they don't have the parts and I'll have to come back. Then they keep my truck now for a 2nd day and the service manager dealing with me tells me that my truck is the first one he has seen that failed their recall check and that the ring fix they have will not be enough they have to fix the rear end. I need to find a new dealer in my town this group has been a pain since I bought a jeep 7 years ago.

Sorry just went back and read the recent posts so I wanted to edit this to say I called the number on the 1st recall letter that I just got and told them that I was being told that stuff about no parts by the dealer and about getting a second letter. The guy from the recall number called this local dealer and all of a sudden I had an appointment for the next monday. Granted they may now be saying it failed and fixing the whole rear end to avoid a problem with me since I called but seems like everyone is getting the same line of bull

off topic but this is one of those places that finds a thousand dollars with of stuff wrong with your truck if you just give it to them to change the oil.

40 days and $2k in rental car fees later.
"Sorry, we don't cover incidentals from recalls."

Mine hasn't yet at 195,000 miles, but it's looking better every time I read a story like this.
