I have always parked as far away from the crowd as possible. This drove my wife crazy until last month.
She bought a new Durango.
Now, guess where she parks.

I've always parked as far away as possible to avoid door dings from idiots. I also look at this as a form of gaining more exercise and letting others who are less physically capable or have young childeren, etc. park closer to the business entrance. I especially like end spots where only 1 vehicle can park beside me. Funny how parking far away seems to attract society's biggest losers who see a vehicle alone and have to park beside it. I find that these same idiots are the ones who have little or no respect for another persons property and usually drive a banged up beater to boot.

My wife laughs at my parking ritual and says I'm like a dog circling for a good location before taking a pee.

My wife's dogs make tight circles before crapping.

I also park far away from other vehicles. I spent a lot of money for this truck and I don't mind the extra 1-2 minute walk to prevent damage. It also pisses me off when I come out and there's a ton of spaces around me and some $^^&#! parks right next to me. My wife used to roll her eyes when I parked away from everyone. She would park next to two cars without even thinking about it. Ironically, she got a new truck this spring and she parks like I do now...."I get it, now" she said to me, lol....

At the grocery store today when I noticed a wonderful human being loading her hummer with groceries. She pushed the cart about 1 foot away from her vehicle before pulling off. I looked at her as if to say..."you c*nt".

try parking your truck in a college parking lot amongst a lot of people that dont care about what they are driving, was backed into last year in my car, driven into this year while in my truck and had some girl swing her door open into my old car's door last year while I was sitting in the car, also came out one time to a pink paint mark on the door of that car..... insurance doesnt really cover parking lots, they consider it 50/50 most of the time, to I fixed my truck when that dumbass stoner drove into my truck, the girl who backed into me fawked off and I got her plate # to report a hit and run, I got my car fixed for free that time........ problem is you cant park far away in these parking lots, in the summer there is a good size grassy hill that cars cant drive up onto, when I am in that lot I park on it, plus you see my truck from everywhere when its up there haha

I don't like those people that take up two parking spaces so they wont get the car damaged cause that's just wrong but I can see why they do but I would never do that. I love when someone parks so close to me that I can't open my door. That one is the best so I leave a nice note on there windshield.
I've done the same thing and I carry a can of general trim adhesive for the back of the note, just so it doesn't blow away.

I've spent the last 8 months black priming and wetting my truck down to get every microscopic ding. I'd guess that to 90% of the population since it's half primed it looks like a piece of crap. I've also caught people taking pictures of it. That being said...I'm "nice" enough to let my passenger out right up front before I park somewhere a football field away.

I just have a feeling that somehow it's going to give some jerk enough room to really build up some speed before he looks up and "t" bones it.

I park far away also. I don't mind a nice walk and the lazy inconsiderate idiots will always attempt to park the closest they can.

I do the same and have had the same thing happen numerous times...some pr*ck parking their hunk-o-s**t next to my car or truck. I have been lucky enough not to take too many dings but, you know they park there just to be aholes. Last person that dinged my vehicle wedged in next to one of my Mustangs in a non-parking spot. It was just extra asphalt on the other side of a parking spot. He wound up missing a headlight for his troubles. This is why I carry a tire buddy in my doors map pocket...just so I can return the favor cuz, I know they aren't gonna pay for it.
