Default Heat only works when on the gas ?

Hi I have a love / hate thing with my truck lately . Seams every time I turn around something else is not working . Lately my heat only works when I'm moving and on the gas , the defrost has never worked and don't get me started with the windows, speakers , tail lights ect.

So why does my heat only work when Im moving and on the gas. It blows real hot unless I stop or let of the gas the. It feels like the ac is on . It's 20 outside and I'm sick of it

Back flush the heater core! I had that very problem with my old Dakota. Did a back flush and she pumped out the heat like no tomorrow.

I just put a new heater core in , do you think it could of clogged in a few months? and its 20 degrees out so ive turned off my outside hoses. could i just reverse the lines and let it pump itself out ?

Check the coolant level and make sure it is up and full. I know it sounds crazy but will not blow heat unless full and will not over heat because it is cold enough outside. If its down check for leaks, check heater core and more likely the thermostat would go first.

I have had this happen on several different cars. I would say you have air in the system. You can bleed it if it has the bleed screws, you can also burp it with the hoses (with the cap off squeeze the hoses real fast to get any air out. Sometimes you have to lift the front of the car up too, or park it on an incline. I am sure you have air or not enough coolant in your system.

Why 2 gallons down? I would be looking for a leak or possible lead hgasket leak. That much of a fluid loss indicates a problem.
