Default braking

What style/brand aftermarket brake controllers are recommended?
Proportional Controller or Timed control?
LED display bars or Digital readout?
Hard Wired or Plug and Play?

I will be pulling my KZ Coyote Rockclimber toyhauler with my new ram 1500 and want the best braking possible. In my previous truck I had a cheapo model brake controller and was not too happy with the adjustability.

I'm going with the first one pictured here that has the adapter wiring harness...just plug-and-play, no wiring hacking. It also has digital readout, 360 degree mounting, automatic leveling, and I prefer proportional designs. The price ain't bad either. I'm also looking at a way to use the existing hole for the factory controller instead of mounting elsewhere.

Thanks for the reply. The controller you posted is on the top of my list. What is the advantage to the Proportional Controller over timed? I'm assuming the brakes will not jerk as hard when applying the brakes for longer period of times like the timed controllers?

Here's a good tutorial from the same supplier I linked on the controller. They sell both controllers, so I don't think they stacked the deck for either controller design. Their explanation and pros/cons are why I go with proportional vs. timed. With automatic leveling and 360 degree mounting in the modern proportional controllers now, the negatives are all but gone. Still, the reason there are still two designs is because folks have different views and preferences on some of the differences.
