Default Transmission prob?

Back in October 2011 the truck was in the shop and needed a new seal put on due to oil leak. Just 2 months ago, could smell antifreeze. TOok it back to the shop, and they installed a new water pump.

For the past few days the truck has acted weird. Backing out of a parking spot and gave it just a little gas, and I thought I had a flat tire. Put truck in park and checked and no flat tire. Drove home and seemed to be shifting weird and lagging on take off. Tonight we went to stop at the bottom of a hill, and there was this lurching back and forth and the truck stalled out. Restarted the engine put it in drive, stalls again. Every stop sign we came too this happened. So, of course by the time we got home their was the antifreeze smell combined with a metal smell coming from the truck. Also the temp was 275. Too late to call the service dept at the dealership, so I will get in touch with them in the am.

We have the lifetime powertrain warranty on the truck, but what wrong here. It has been nonstop issues. Truck has 75000 miles on it and most are highway miles. Maintenance is up to date as well.

Blown head gasket? White smoke out the exhaust? From what you're saying, head gasket seems the most likely.

so when I was driving it to the shop the following day, I gave it gas to get on the interstate and it would not downshift. ended up manually shifting down on the shifter and lurched along doing 25 on the interstate with a nice police officer following me. (yes impeding traffic) Finally broke down on the dealership property. THey had to tow me in. Basically they ended up rebuilding the transmission. Then 2 nights ago we kept hearing this hum when letting off the gas and then the loud jet engine popcorn popper and ka powwwwyyyy rear end seized and the drive shaft fell off. Yep glad we were only doing 35 mph. I believe this has to do with the recall going on, but our truck was built before the recall date. So our truck has the lifetime warranty on it. We took excellent pics of all the stuff under the truck and the driveshaft that completely fell off as well. Called Chrysler and filed a "case" with them. My next step is the Highway safety place. No way will I put my kids back into that coffin and drive them around.

Default The problems with this truck!!!!!

The last time our 09 Ram was in the shop it is because the rear pinion nut backed off and dropped the drive shaft in the middle of the road. That was in November. Fast forward to the past week and I noticed it had been shifting weird and lurching when shifting. Put it in drive to pull out of the drive way and it would die. This am I am driving to work, and went around a curve (braking) then gave it the gas coming out of the curve and it shifted about 6 times trying to "find" the right gear. Called the shop and took it in. The next stop for this truck should be the junkyard honestly. They are trying so hard to buy us out of it, but we are within a year of paying it off! Anyone else with this many issues? Oh and they also told us that there was a recall on the pinion nut issue now. All I could do is stand there and laugh seeing as how we already had that fixed and now it is recalled!
