If you want it black, just sand the crap out of it, primer it with BBQ primer, and put a Semi-Gloss BBQ paint on it. That would look great and hold up.

Ha stole my idea thats what i did but then finished off with high temp clear coat

This is all BBQ black with a high temp clear coat on it. I tried for satin.



Due to the weather, I think I'm going to do the frame in a gloss black, and respray the tank and plastics satin black.

Just curious, why use bbq paint on something that won't be getting hot? I think there are many products that would better suite the bike and the jeep, IMO, JW why you chose that product?

Its very corrosion resistant, holds up well in salt air (which I'm right on the water) and you can make it shine like mad with a clear coat or keep it completely flat. I paint a lot of things with BBQ just because people like the look of it. I've painted AR-15 barrels and hot parts on them for others because they liked the gloss look, and it holds up well.
