Default New to forum! and upgrades for new ram!

Hey everyone! new to the forum! Just picked up an 07 hemi quad 4x4 bighorn

I've already got a short parts list made up of things i'm going to do to it. nothing wild as this is my daily, and was purchased to pull the race car (10 second dart) which gets the real money spend on it.

anyways i'm looking at the followingparts and wondered if i can get any mileage gains out of them. granted i only drive 5 miles to work...so the 11 mpg that i have to nurse it for in the city isn't a bankbreaker, but it would be nice to get a few more. here's the basic bolt on list. opinions welcome, tell me what kind of power and mileage i can expect...i'm thinking maybe 2 mpg and (maybe) 40-45 horse

FLOWMASTER-817423 EXHAUST KIT

The programmer is a great choice. As far as the intake, you would be better off picking on that has a plastic tube over aluminum. The flowmaster exhaust has a good sound, but Magnaflow mufflers will flow better and give you a better performance bump. The flowmaster has insides similar to the stock muffler, while the Mag is a straight through design. Put up some pics of the new ride AND the dart! I've always wanted a 65 GT

i listened to the magnaflow and it sounded rather stock to me...i was thinking the flowmaster, being a50 series ( i have 44's on the dart) was still a chambered design that won't burn up...maybe i'm incorrect.
I didn't even notice the tube on the intake was alminum, good catch!
i hear great things about the programmers, hopefully a small bump in mileage boost!

here's the only picture i have of the ram as of now, and a few of the dart.

the engine description is a little off, it's getting a commando headed stroker built as we speak but alot of pictures!

Thanks for that! I have the Predator, and it is the best money you can spend on the truck! Flowmaster does sound good, I just like the design of Magnaflow for me. I also like the Cherry Bomb Vortex muffler, good sound and design. I think the next setup on mine will have SpinTech mufflers

I would use AFE, Airaid, Volant or K&N 63 series for your truck

I've got a K&N intake, Custom duals with a Cherry Bomb Pro and a Tonneau and used to get 23 on the highway till I decided to lift it. I'm getting a programmer next I always hear great reviews on them about mileage and of course performance!

yeah for you guy's info, the summit racing branded kits, and the trickflows, in (MOST) cases are rebranded KNN's

i love the lifted look but mine already barely clears the garage door lol
programmer will probably be first, probably the diablo, they did just come out with another one but the power gains look the same, maybe more features though. i'm not interested in writing my own AF graphs or anything lol so maybe it's more than what i'd want in a programmer. here's the link though if you guys wanna check it out.

You will be fine with a simple Predator, and an extra 100 bucks in your pocket.

flows are strictly a sound mod, doesnt compare in performance to the others...been there done that..I ran flow 50's for a year and when i swapped to a mag I immediately bettered my track times... love cruisin through town stealthy, have a guy roll up on me with flows thinkin he's fast and leavin him standing still when we run...

hmm... i can get the magneflow cheaper...maybe i should go that route. does it sound good still? is it actually burnable packing around a perf. tube?
are we talking a tenth at the track?? or maybe it was just a better weather day? not questioning you i just have actually used FM before and never tried magaflow..then again my super 44's are on a 10 second drag car, not a fuel injected 6000 lb truck lol

x2^^, the exhaust is a preference thing and depends on what you want. The DS Intune gives you a few more features and touch screen ability over the Predator, again a preference thing and both work great (tons of positive reviews on them). Superchips also make a great programmer!

Good news! Since you are looking at getting the trinity of performance mods (exhaust, CAI, programmer), I just posted in my vendor section that I can now offer special discounts for members looking to buy package deals which gives you much better savings vs buying them independently. I can get you a price quote if interested or you can reach me at x7901 to discuss your options.

My prices are pretty tough to beat...
