UNBROKEN is correct.

A non-mandrel bend is no better than what you had....so to speak.

Do it once and do it right.

I have the 18" magnaflow and it sounds great not to loud not to quiet. The K &n CAI added makes it even better.

Has anyone subbed the 18 inch magnaflow for the 22 inch that comes with the catback system in order to get it louder?

I see several people just subbing the 18 inch and the y pipe but at least to me, failing to remove the squished looking pipe from the drivers side as it goes in front of the tranny seems to defeat the purpose of changing the y pipe....

Could one just run new mandrel bent pipe from the cat to their choice of muffler and skip buying a system? or would this somehow affect performance negatively?

I got the 16869 installed yesterday and it sounds amazing. Only thing is it hangs down further that everyone else’s??? I spoke with the installer and he said that just how it all went together and not much they could do unless I took it somewhere and had it modified (meaning the hangers and what not)??? Anyone have any thoughts on this.????

I only just viewed this otherwise I would have replied earlier.

Sorry it's taken over 13 months.

I'm sure you've sorted it out by now but that - your tips hanging and protruding the way they do - is clearly a fine tuning in the exhaust shop that should have been addressed during the install.

Some people are cool with it, others like you and me hate it.

It took my guy a little time, and elbow grease, to have my tips sitting the way they currently do. Both my hangers on either side were cut, notched out and re-welded to have them sitting up to the bumper's lip. On top of that, the same thing was done to the pipes on either side along the path. About 2.5" was removed from either side to give them the recessed look I wanted. This cut-n-shut job is a [very] common practice for a reputable exhaust shop/guy; no questions asked.

For anyone in a similar boat, speak up and demand that you want the appearance you expected. These guys just took the piss-poor method and gave you the truck back the way the catback installed without any effort on their behalf..... and most certainly didn't care about your opinion.

Speak up!

Can someone please explain what you mean by crimps on the exhaust system?
