My old man had actually said he runs the Cooper Discover H/T up until the last time when he tried some Hancooks and he said he thought they were a decent tire.

Yeah I like the coopers I have now. Also had a lot of good luck with the firestone's I used to run on my s10 (got over 70,000 miles out of them and sold the truck and they still had a lot of tread). If you look, keep in mind there are discoverer H/T and discoverer H/T plus, they are different tires.

Have you heard anything about Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S. I have heard good stuff hear and there but nothing that I can count on.

I'm not sure what the h/t-s stands for, but the yokohama geloandar is a great tire and good looking tire as well. I almost bought them. I was looking at those, the nitto's, and the cooper's, and went with the cooper's because they say "made in USA".

Good deal, at least I know where I can start. I will make some phone calls local and see if I can get my hands on any of these. If not, Amazon here I come!

Firestone firehawks are great too, that's what I had on my s10. Not sure if they come in a 17" wheel size though...
