So, what is everyones reason for using 91 over 93 oct tune? Is it the availability? Because I'm pretty sure every gas station around here has 87, 91, and 93. And it's honestly maybe another $2.50 a tank.

Oh and as for the cai tune, there is none. On diablos forums they say they did not make one for the hemi because they think that the stock intake does just as well as an aftermarket intake.

Very few stations around here have higher than 91 octane so I ran the 91 tune when I had my old truck.

OK! That would make sense lol. I thought there might have been another reason other than not having it at local stations.

I ran the 93 octane tune for a long time. I switched to the 87 octane tune a couple of weeks ago and I swear it feels more powerful! Not sure why. I can break my tires loose ALOT easier now as well.

My 09 big horn cc liked the 87 tune and the mds shut off. Best mpg and power for everyday use and towing. Never saw any improvements with the higher octane tune just more expensive gas.

That's the only drawback but I rarely have a lot of weight in the truck anyway, it's usually less than 500 lb and I don't worry about that. During periods where I am often hauling loads I'll switch to the 91 tune and still run 93 octane and this works out well. When towing heavy loads I used to run the tow tune, but it seems like most people run the 87 tune on 91 or 93 octane with good results.

I agree 100% with Mr. snrusnak!!! I've got the 91 tuning set in my truck (see video here- http://youtu.be/35HcyDAUaiI) and I've not changed it since I installed it in the video. I LOVE it and I run anything from 91 octane or above depending on the station I stop off and top up at. I have to say that the "jerking" feeling that Mr. snrusnak accurately describes this and I agree. It is a very hard shift that feels more like the trans and drive system is transferring as much possible power from the engine to the tires that is available, and I love it!!

Feel free to check out my latest HEMI video as well. See it here- http://youtu.be/6AFQQ6QR7vw

Anywhoo, just thought I'd add my 2 cents. Mr snrusnak is the reason I went with the S.C. cortex so I'd listen to him and pick his brain a little if I were looking around for tuning info.
