I personally put a Volant CAI in my truck because I like the closed box. If I had to pick between the two I would choose the K&N CAI.

For a 4th gen I would look at the Airaid MXP, looks real nice with a huge filter and contoured intake tube for better airflow. Good luck!!

I just put the k&n on mine and love it...

noticable throtrle response increase, mild mpg increase and awesome sound.

I was going to put an exhaust kit on my truck but after putting this on I dont think I want one any more... its pretty much silent below 3k rpms but once you step on it... wow

I had a afe stage 2 w/dry filter on mine at first. The fitment was subpar so I removed it and went with a Vararam and have never looked back. The Vararam is not very loud as compared to the Afe which was rediculously loud.

I have a k&n on my truck and agree with RamMan as long as I can keep my foot off of the gas.
