i've been trying to build my ram for the past few months now and i've gotten everything together and the next step is a lift kit, the thing is i want to run 35's on 20 inch rims but i dont want a 6 inch lift, ideal lift is 4inch, which is made just for the 05-06 model, so i guess my main question is why that cant work on my truck if they are both 3rd gen rams and a year apart, did that much really change?

Doesn't sound right to me. I was under the impression that the lift kits would be interchangeable as long as they are 3rd gens.

well rough country has a lift kit for the 02-05 and when i emailed them and said well since 3rd gen goes from 02-08 can I buy this kit and they told me no it wasnt interchangeable. Does anyone have a truck thats a different year, than the lift kit specified but same gen?

alright just got off the phone with rough country after spending some time with them checking and double checking and then tripple checking that indeed it does not matter if the kit says 02-05, if its for the 3rd gen then it fits regardless of what the year on the kit says. thanks guys

Glad they finally confirmed the right answer. I've been trying to figure out their reasoning for why it wouldn't fit, but couldn't find anything to back that up. Now we know why lol.
