Default First road trip in RAM while towing

So I went to south LA today to pick up a buddys beat up Durango and bring it back to Shreveport. The Durango weighed in at about 4800 lbs and the trailer maybe 500. When I got back to Shreveport I was averaging 14.9 mpg and had the cruise set to 67 the entire trip. I was very impressed with the power this truck still had when pulling this load. Ive pulled my 1500 lb boat plenty of times and never noticed it was back there. Very glad I bought a RAM!!!

Indeed it was squating, it wouldve been much worse if I put that 2" leveling kit on, like I was supposed to do this weekend. I also shouldnt have had so far forward. But hey, it was hot, I was in a crappy mood, and where I put it in park is where it went. Strapped it down, and rolled on

If you own a Dodge Ram 1500 with a coil-spring rear suspension, you have the best-riding truck on the road, but the factory suspension sags under heavy loads.

Now you can have both a great ride and as much lifting power as you need.

The TLC suspension system adds two heavy-duty, 9-inch air springs that supply two tons of lifting power to level any legal load you haul or tow. Total Load Control also improves safety, steering, handling, braking and ride – loaded or unloaded.
