I'm gonna hijack this discussion with ignorance b/c tranny/gears/drivetrain are way out of my wheel house. I have a 2010 1500 with a 2.5" level and 35/12.5/20 MT's and my truck runs like a slug and I get a whopping 11mpg (speedo isn't calibrated). I'm assuming from what I've read I need to go with 4.56's?? Where can I purchase some? Do I buy the same for the front? What else do I need to get to do this? Will this void my warranty? I seriously want to do this and get my performance and gas mileage back on par but I'm completely lost as to where to begin :/

In order to get your power and mileage back, 4.56 would be the way to go. You will need to find a good differential shop to do the work. To change the gears will at this point involve modifying the stock carrier to hold the older style ring gear because no one is making an aftermarket gear set for the 09-12 dodge axle. I have had it done, and it works great.

If you have an '11 then yea the front is just a straight swap. The rear requires some carrier modding to be done. What part numbers do you want?

Well I cant really give you the part number for the gears bc I dont know what Ring and Pinion size and what brand you want to run haha. Just have your install shop pick then up. Its 100% not a bolt up in the rear tho. You have to get your rear cerrier modified to accept the non-ZF gears. If theres a shop near you that can do it your gtg. Not alot of people seem to be able to find a shop thats willing to do it. I hope you can for you sake, but if not shoot me a pm and I can help you out. Im mailing ouy a freshly modded ZF LSD to a DT member this evening. As forthe hypertech, yes I have one. Im assuming the shift schedule is right now, hell it should be! I rode with 37s and stock 3.55s for 20k miles. This new found power and shit is extremely nice to say the least!! I never thought stock gears and 37s were bad, then again mine only weighed 80lbs. But with 4.56s its soooooo much fun to drive

I think you can get any 9.25 gears used on 02-10 9.25 rear and 8 or so " up front. Motive and Yukon are popular and Yukon is a vendor here. Its mostly 10% gears and 90% install anyway, but in this case i would say 99% install :P

I thought the 2010's had the standard chrysler 9.25 12 bolt? In which case there's no modification needed? I thought it was the 2011+ that had different differential?

If someone could clarify this for me I would really appreciate it do the swap withing the week.
