Default Factory Antenna

I am shopping for aftermaket head units for my 2012 ram. Most of them sell optional sirius tuners with an antenna. Is there an adapter or is an adapter required to use the factory sirius antenna with an aftermarket head unit? The kit comes with an antenna but my truck already has an antenna obviously so I would rather just use the factory antenna with the sirius universal kit if it will fit. Does anyone know if the connector is the same?

I don't know the answer to your question bu I've found that the folks at Crutchfield are unbeatable when it comes to stuff like this. They'll know if the stock connectors will work and if not likely have the required adapters. Plus they have great deals on HUs - bought a Kenwood from them bout five years ago for my previous truck and it was still working great when I traded it last week. And if you buy an HU now and a few years from now want to upgrade you can even trade in. I'd give em a call. Good luck!

I have already talked to them and they stated they carried several adapters if I knew what type of connector the factory antenna had (SMB or Fraka or blah blah). I do plan to buy the HU from crutchfield so they were the first ones I asked. I am a fan of theirs for sure. Thank you for the reply though anyway.
