The weekend before or after Memorial day. There is giant field and park at the San O beach. I will do a little range recon tomorrow when I am off work.
I'll check to see if there are grills there. If not, I have a gas and a charcoal I could bring up. Maybe some one else could bring another grill, depending on how many people are coming
But definitely a BBQ with beer and a beautiful beach

i've done plenty of family days there it's a great spot. I am really certain that there are charcoal grills there. The big ones built into cement. Sounds like a great idea to me. I'm down

I'd love to join up with you all, but that's a bit far for a day's drive, and right now with some biz I have going on, I can't plan for overnighters...so any chance you'll be organizing anything further north in the near future? Like, say, up the 15 near Cajon Pass? Or maybe up the 5 near Valencia? Just askin'...

Reconned the San O State beach today. No alcohol at the park, but you can at the camp sites.... So maybe we pass on that one.
I see what you are saying about moving it up north a bit.
Maybe San O beach is a little too far south. But I think we should keep a SoCal meet in Orange County area. It is about in the middle of the SoCal area, half way from the border to the north end up LA.
Or maybe do a meet up in LA area, then another one in San Diego area??

San O beach might be a little hard since it's on base and the gate guys have been doing weird things right now with up'ing security.

I hope it doesn't come out selfish to say that I am 100% for an orange county meet up, considering I live in San Clemente. There are plenty of beaches by the San Clemente peir that we can BBQ at and have good parking.

But I'm not against driving a ways to meet more people either. I guess it comes down to who is the farthest out and how far do they want to drive?

I don't drink & drive, so any place within reasonable driving distance is good for me
most of San Diego's beaches are alcohol & smoke free, same with the parks
It sucks to be a chain smoker these days

Tell me about it.

There is a park around the corner from my house in San Clemente, cross streets El Portal and Calle Puente. It's a good size, there is parking all the way around it, there are grills and bathrooms. Not really a beach view and no sand, but a great place to chill and relax. It's called Max Berg Park

New to the group. I live in Costa Mesa, CA and have started bringing my 2012 Ram to Irvine Car/Coffee show on Saturday mornings. Anyone ever go to that?
