Default Toggle switch in place of cigarette lighter

I want to put a electric cutout on my truck and want to avoid drilling a hole to mount the switch. I got to thinking that it might be possible to remove the cigarette lighter that is powered only when the key is on and put a toggle switch in to open and close the cutout. Would this be as easy as it sounds like it should be?

shouldnt be hard and can be do-able. If your truck isn't 4x4 though then u have an open slot that u can mount a plate without cutting up ur dash! Also they do make switch panels that u can tuck behind the dash and have a slim switch panel that 3m's to wherever u want it!

I have the 4x4, yeah I might go the 3m route. I just want it to look original. Still debating on the cut out cause I already have hi flow cats and the 14" magnaflow with resonator delete. I love the noise, yes it's loud and I like it that way. I actually might hold off and get long tube headers and see what I end up with.

if you didn't have a 4X4

otherwise if you have the full floor console, you could put a nice control panel where my CB radio is

Yeah that looks really good, how big of a hole did you have to drill for those? Also how hard is it to get that dash panel off? What do you use your switches for? Thanks for the pics, that helps a lot.

how hard would it be to install one of those 110 volt plugs in my truck? is it even possible, that would be good to have in the truck.

I had a thought. On the 2500 3500 with a jake brake their is an extra switch on the dash on the top switch panel. If you were to get a new switch panel with that switch you could use the jake bake switch for he cut off switch.
