Default HP rating

Does anyone know why the HP rating for the power wagon is less that the 1500's?

Thanks

Because it's a diesel and all it's power is made of torque? I mean 700+ is quite a bit.

Sorry man, your information is incorrect. The Power Wagons do not come with the Cummins, something about too much torque or something. I am not 100% sure about the reasoning behind that. Anyway, the Power Wagons are Hemi only.
To the original question, I have no idea, I was wondering that myself. Hope you find an answer and sorry I can't be more help.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't been able to find anything about this. I'll continue looking and if I find anything, I'll post an update. You would think they would be the same...

It's only a 7HP difference, the 1500's are rated at 390HP,the 2500 Power Wagon is 383HP.It's probably just a different timing curve used in the ECM.

They don't put diesels in the power wagons because of the extra weight it places on the front end , as for the hp rating, I was told the power wagons have a different cam profile which gives it a flatter more usable power curve for the heavier GVW
