Thumbs up 1500 spindles and hubs on an 08 2500 they fit sorta!!

I've been messing around with the 08 dodge that we a re going to race up at Bonneville salt flats.
I wanted the 1500 5 lug hubs and spindles on the 08,the top ball joint fits but the lower 2500 ball joint is much larger and wont fit the spindle.
02 -05 the swap is easy because you just swap the A-arms and the 1500 spindle goes right on there.that don't work on the 06-09.
So I measured the taper on the 2500 lower ball joint and its 1.5 inch per foot taper ,I then bought a tapered ream and enlarged the lower hole on the 1500 spindle.Well the half ton spindle is now bolted up to my 2008 2500 with the wheel on and everything looks like its going to work.
Here's a photo with 20" steel 5 lug rim bolted on and the truck sitting on its feet.
I have a pair of 2' dropped spindles on the way I'll see if they can be modified to fit like this,I'll post the results.

I'll keep ya posted ,I have the dropped spindles in hand,I'll ream out the bottom ball joint holes today and try and get them fitted over the weekend.
I also found out that the early SRT10 ram uses a 3/4 ton brake caliper with a 15 inch brake rotor,a company out in cali makes a drilled and slotted SRT10 rotors for $242 a pair.

The plan is working so far.... I reamed out the bottom ball joint hole in the dropped spindles (1/2 ton) with the 1.5 inch per foot ream.I test fit a new 3/4 ton bottom ball joint into the spindle.

The spindle was then bolted to the A-arms,then turned through its full range of steering motion,no problems.

I am going with Viper srt10 brakes on the front of this truck.

Here's the truck sitting on the 20 inch steel 1/2 ton wheels



Need to drop the back down now and level the truck out.



Thats it for now,I'll post more pics when I get the rear end down where it should be.

Are you fabricating a bracket to move the brake caliper so it fits the 15" rotor?
