Default 33x12.5 vs 35x12.5????

I'm looking it to tires for my truck and I want to run 35's but worried about rubbing but 33's I think might look a little small. Any ideas?

Whats done to your truck? Is it stock, leveled, or lifted?

The truck is leveled on stock rims and tires (20's) at the moment.

Well the 33's will clear with no problem and the 35's will clear as well but might rub at full lock depending on the size of spacer you go with.
I have a 4" lift with 35x12.5's and I rub at full lock, but I think that its due to the larger spacer that I am running.

with the 20's the 33's will look small, especially chrome wheels, they seem to over power the look of the rubber. I am not sure if they 35's will clear... I kind of wish that I had got 35's...

here is leveled with 33x12.5's (305/55/20)

2011 Assault 800....I personally don't think your tires look small. It's all a matter of opinion though I guess.

To the OP.....you could probably run a 285/65/20 which is basically a 35x11.50 (even though it's actually only about 34.5" tall) with no spacers. Wider than that will likely rub without spacers. The problem with the 285/65 is that it is only made in a couple of tires, the most popular being the BF Goodrich T/A KO.

You can probably run a 295/60 (34.5" tall) or 295/65 (35.5" tall) if you don't mind running quarter inch spacers. There is a thread on here were the owner has 295/60/20 Nitto Trail Grapplers on his 2007 and it looks awesome....he had to run spacers to keep it from rubbing though.

And lastly, if you aren't particularly interested in the extra width you could always go with 275/65....it's a 34" tire but has the same width as stock.

hey assault, do you know what all years of trucks came with your factory wheels. I would like to find a set of those (if i can find them cheap). Mine has the ugly steel wheels with the chrome cover.

The wheels that Assault has ran from 2002-2005 when they changed the body style. also changed again in 2006-2008. I personly like the 06-08 wheels better, but each to thier own.

As far as 33's vs 35's. I have the stock 20's on now but the rims I'm getting are 18x10 just to save my self a little money and have better options for tires. I only have 3 of the stock rims that aren't damaged and have been running the spare for a year now and am just tired of looking at the ugly 20" steel wheel. Time for an upgrade. From what I've been reading on the forum I will be able to run the 35's with no problem. But I've also read that they will rub and full lock. I'll be able to deal with that. Just trying to go as much feed back from everyone to help make my mind up.

my opinion on this is if your just leveled i would go with 33s because i think 35s will look too stuffed
