If you want MPG's and longevity? Leave it alone! I suggest the Zone 5" kit if your wanting 35-37s. I have it on my 08' HEMI and I'm gonna put one under my 06' Mega Cab 5.9. I've run 4 different lifts on that truck now and this is the only one I've liked. The talk about a lift looking bigger on a diesel truck is nonsense. Doesn't even make sense? That common rail ways more than my HEMI with the trans and T-case still attached. Yes, some makers claim to have different packages for diesels. Fact is, if you look at the part numbers, they are the same. It's just them giving you a reach around. If you do jump up in tire size, I'd also suggest getting a bigger brake set up. With my 35s and stock brakes I couldn't even lock them up. My 37s, I couldn't lock them up on wet pavement! Power stop truck and tow kit was worth it's weight in gold. Now it doesn't matter? When I get on the brakes, I stop. New truck is getting those too.

IMHO if you start to mess with the front end of those trucks---04,05,06--you better be prepared to eventually deal with DW. The front ends on those trucks were not built very well and lots and lots of people had trouble with their trucks. While the 5.9 is probably one of the best diesels made the more mod's you do the more potential you have to have problems. Plus the stock auto trans wasn't any real winner either. There are a lot of people that have not had any trouble---yet---but in my experience if you want a good reliable truck that will last you a long time and give you reasonable mileage, leave it alone and just drive it. Mine lasted over 150k, and I had an Edge chip, custom cold air intake and custom exhaust, but I didn't dog it every day from stop light to stop light.
Just cause it's loud doesn't mean it's fast and just cause it's shiney doesn't mean it's protected. Remember, going fast costs money, so how fast do you wanna go?

I hand calculate and run 14 mpg (decent load) to 18 mpg (no load). Also have a K&N filter and just cleaned it (looked like fine mulch). I appreciate the feedback on S&B as I plan to look into it. I have the 5" tip but it's in front of the rear tire (got to fix that). My partner runs a 2wd 12 valve single cab longbed and gets a bit better (no lift of course) and has a straight shift. We only haul about 7,000 lbs. per pick up we flip (trucks from COPART, US Southern states). I've been off the computer about 6 years but since back surgery, I'm back. It's is a great site here with a wealth of information and I hang off every word...thanks to all!

need to update my profile I reckon... Richmond
