It looks great! Did you take the badge of and paint it or did you just mask it off, and did you use a primer before the first coat? Sorry about the questions, interested in painting my badges as well but don't really know how to go about doing it.

Nice job I just ordered my badges yesterday from Rebadge Designs. Getting the front, rear and steering wheel done. Can't wait to get them now.

Shawn, looks great cant wait to see pics.

Deep water,
I started with purchasing a new badge just I case I messed up. It already had the double sided sticky tape on it. Found it on eBay for about 35 bucks.

Took 400 grit sand paper to it. Be sure to take your time and get in all the nooks and crannies.

Now for the paint. I started with 3 coats of adhesion promoter. Follow the directions for cure time and temperatures to paint in. I had to heat up the garage to make it 70 degrees.

Then, 3 coats of gray primer. Be sure to paint from every direction and use light coats so that it will not run.

Next, 3 coats of color match paint. Had to buy this From the dealer. Expensive, about 15 bucks for a tiny can. Only needed one can however.

Let it cure over night.

Finally, 4 coats of clear.

Good luck! Send pics when u complete yours.

Have a few other things that I just thought of. If u plan on using the badge in the truck BE CAREFUL WHEN PULLING IT OFF! I creased my when prying. I could reuse it but I would notice and that is not fun. Also, there are 3 holes in the metal behind the badge. 2 of those holes are there for aligning the badge. Not sure what the third is for.

Here is Mine, I scuffed the black and used liquid masking on the chrome before I painted the blue. I think it came out pretty good.

That turned out great, that's exactly what I was thinking of doing and I never thought about using the liquid masking stuff. The only people I know who use it paint bodies on RC cars and boats. @JCummings: thanks for the how-to info I may just go pick up another badge online just in case. I went to the dealer yesterday and ordered the color matching paint, they really are tiny cans lol

Yest the Mopar cans are tiny. I ordered mine in basecoat/clearcoat from automotivetouchup.com because it was a 12 oz can for $20 instead of a 4 oz. can for $15.
