I prefer paying extra because it "forces" me to save money and I get it back come tax return time. Granted I understand uncle sam is holding my money, but if I get it back I'm better off because like I said it forces me to save.

Had to pay once myself and it did suck so I always put extra in, too. This year, tires for my truck, paying off my exercise machine and saving for VACATION!!!!

That's just cool.
I always try to keep money in a "rainy day fund", also i have been slowly throwing money in for an engagement ring sometime in the next year or so maybe. Got to finish up school and get something more concrete then turning wrenches (not complaining though, good money)

I've pretty much spent what little I got back. One of the big things is that will be using it to pay for both my son's and my own black belt testing during the middle of next month.

Other than that just used the cash to catch up on bills, and even get ahead on a few of them. I also caught up on all the routine maintenance of 3 vehicles. Oil changes, tire rotations, new headlights, and that type of thing tend to add up when you're doing it to 3 vehicles.... even when doing the work yourself

^That sucks. Uncle Sam don't mess around either! He wants his money NOW. Funny how when they owe you "you'll get it when you get it" and when you owe them they need it in two weeks...

Your right about that! Them bastards were on me like a rooster in a hen house! Although it did take me a few years to sort the mess out...and with the interest and penalties adding up it was freaking shocking what they said I owed and what I really owed...so we agreed on a number, more to their favor but still sux.

Seriously, unless you know any thing about your rights and all this Tax/Accounting business they can run all over you.
My brother has been making the dumbest mistakes lately and is going to get hit hard when he finally grows a pair and gets on his own two feet again.
I'm sure they'll be coming for him as soon as he starts a job again.

Money Money Money, you want to live the dream you gotta earn your degree's or break your back!

Well, with gas prices on their way to $6 a gallon by 4th of july, I am buying GAS with my tax return, my pay and my retirement.

For those with a 26 gallon tank, $6 a gallon equates to roughly $195 USD per tank. For those with the 32 gallon tank...you better own either a gold mine, or an oil company.

Sucks that I am paying $450 a month for a truck I cant even drive. I guess its a good thing I am paying it back to my IRA and not a bank, so I can stop paying my payments at any time.
