All the lights, heat and controls work fine on my 2010 1500 that I swapped out for HD mirrors. It was a pricey switch but worth it for me.

Did you have puddle/signal lights on your factory mirrors? I have power/heated factory mirrors on my 1500; wondering if i get the HD mirrors with puddle/signal/power/heated if all functions will work or if my truck would be missing a controller somewhere for the extra lights.

Thanks!
Pretty sure if your truck were missing the extras, they won't work with the HD mirrors, I added a set of towing mirrors off e-bay, they are heated and power tilt, my factory mirrors had heat, tilt, dimming, puddle and turn signals, easy to live without though, the tow mirrors are awesome for the travel trailer.

Ok, I've read all the posts on this topic and I hate to be "THAT GUY", but these will fit an 09 1500 Quad TRX4 correct? When I search the usual sites for these mirrors it say they won't fit my truck.

Thanks in advance,
Matt

Super helpful thread here!

I have a 2014 1500 ST. It had power heated mirrors but no lights. I took some towing mirrors off a 2012 3500 but these had the lights on them as well.

When I did the swap everything matched up except the tow mirrors have 2 plugs and my original mirrors had 1 plug.

I thought this would screw things up but my truck actually had plug ins for both plugs on the tow mirrors so I plugged them both in. Tried the power controls and they worked but I couldn't get the lights to come one but didn't really care too much.

So I get it all put back together and I noticed my check engine light is now on, it doesn't quite shift the same and the outside temperature reading is way off.

I assume it's because I plugged the second plugs in so I will disconnect those today.

Posting this in case someone else tries to do the same swap and curious if anyone else has run into this and if unplugging the second plug will fix it.

The CEL came on because the thermistor that detects the outside temperature is in the bottom corner of the driver side mirror stalk right next to the door on your original mirrors. If you still have them you will see it on there. I am not sure if the newer HDs have theirs there, but they didn't locate it there until the 2013 model year on the 1500s. The truck does use those temp readings for powertrain related functions

What does the sensor look like? Would I be able to see the sensor with the mirrors installed? I swapped them to another truck that was written off before the insurance company picks it up so my originals are reinstalled too.

Took me a minute to find a pic of it, I don't have a pic of my truck that shows it. It sits in the little groove by the mirror hinge that it folds towards the truck on,on the side towards the truck
