WOW!!! THAT'S THE KIND OF ANSWERS I WAS LOOKING FOR!!!!

OK. the least of the issues(light dimming ) is fixed. switch was on the high set.

as far as the answer to how i like everything else, i bought the truck didn't I ????
believe me it was a long process.i looked at everything from Tundras to 6.2 Lariats to Diesels.
again, i'm not bashing i'm just looking for answers!!!

the Ram is the best looking truck out there in my opinion.
it supposedly had the best HP and mileage.
having the HP and being able to use it seem to be 2 different things.
i guess it's just the torque management crap.
i had an 04 Rumble Bee serial # 939. it would spin till they melted,no throttle delay, and wouldn't turn down the throttle once it started spinning!!!! of course no MDS or traction control.
guess i was expecting that kind of performance with the extra 45 hp!!!!!
i guess i will live with it. i am mainly driving it back and forth to work( freeway 18 mi one way) and pulling a Bassboat on the weekends.
pulls fine and this last weekend the mpg was about 11.5.

Wow!...those are a lot of issues and disappointment, Snakebit. Almost sounds like a Ford or GM commercial...LOL! I don't know...I certainly haven't seen anything like that in my '12, which is basically the same as your '11, with the exception of 4-wheel drive. I would like to know what gear ratio you have too, as someone else has already asked. Even with 3:55's in mine, spinning the 20" tires isn't a problem. Mine will even leave black marks until the traction control seems to put a stop to it. Turn off the traction control, and it leaves more rubber than I want to spend on new tires if I keep doing it. As pointed out here on other posts, traction control apparently does not ever completely disengage...just largely weakened by pushing the disable button in the dash. Maybe something isn't disengaging in the traction control circuit?

Not being a prick here but if you want help/answers maybe ask the questions a little nicer/friendlier...?

Anyway my 4.7L with 3.55 would smoke the stock HP good-for-a-years on dry pavement with TC off. With the new Cooper Zeon tires that are a bit heavier and grippier, it'll spin them sometimes, and won't other times. I know many people with 4th gen hemi's and they all light up the tires. Keep in mind the vehicle is designed NOT to let the tires spin (even with traction control off....as you can't actually turn it off 100%) so you have a lot fighting you when you're trying to spin them. And FWIT all modern vehicles have these traction control/torque management "issues". Sucks when you want to have fun but is good sometimes.

Pull the ABS fuse and turn TC off on the dash if you really want to have some fun, that'll disable all traction control measures...

hey snakebit, glad you like the truck overall. if that mpg was towing might not be too bad. if that was empty and not towing, there is def. a problem. since your truck is so new, you may want to test drive a new one built as close to yours as possible and see if it feels better than yours, then have the service manager do the same if they feel different. also, i have an 11 and had the rear dif recall, might want to check your fluid level. not to over look the obvious, are any of your calipers sticking. also, i have the 3.55 gears and my tires do not break on the pavement. hitting the switch on the dash only partially disables the electronics. hope this helps and keep us informed on what you find.

I have a 2011 with a 6 inch lift 35 inch nitto mud grapplers and I have no problem "roasting " the tires in race mode and as for the gas milage I am lucky if I get 10 miles per gallon in the city and maybe 12 on the highway of course I am in Canada and we use liters per Km and in the city it sits around the 24 26 liters per Km but like they say I didn't buy the truck for the fuel economy lol

SORRY!!! didn't realize i asked in a sarcastic way.
you know i'm a Cowboy fan too, but sometimes when there is a problem you have to admit there IS a problem!!!
3:55's
was built late 11 so it was not included in the diff recall. supposedly it had been addressed already.

It's a heavy truck, not a light, high performance car. I'm very happy with my 2011. I don't expect it to drive like my Corvette and am pleased with how it drives for a truck.

Snakebit your not the only one that can't roast the tires! Mine is a single cab swb with 3:92's and it won't do much more than a bark when taking off. I have yet to see a new Ram roast the tires, or at least what I call roasting the tires.....Anybody got video?

My old 97 Chevy which also was swb reg cab 5.7 with 3:73's and posi traction would spin both tires until I let off the throttle, not that was fun! The next truck was a 2005 crew cab chevy with 5.3, 3:73's with locer and it couldn't spin the tires on the wet road, that truck was a pos!
