Default tow question

I'm trying to get some info. At the end of August I have to drive about 400 mile round trip to tow my mom's car to my house to rebuild the top end of her engine. My question is I have an 01 with the 5.2, 5 speed, with 3.55 gears with 31's. Should it handle a 01 Chevy Malibu? Also should I get a car trailer or can I get away with a dolly?

I would say you can get away with a tow dolly, that will cut down on some of your towing weight instead of a big trailer. I would think you would be ok towing it. I have seen a lot worse setups. what kind a terrain are you towing across, flat, hilly, mountains? trailer brakes are going to help a lot, and I would check your tire rating as well.

Might be cheaper to send her the money to fix it. But yes, the truck will do it no-problem.

I would say yes your truck should be able to handle it and agree with chrissnow on using a tow dolly.
