Default Laramie Stuck In 4th Gear

Need a little help,

Sunday on my way home looked down and noticed the ram was driving in 4th gear. turned the car truck off and back on still stuck in forth, drove it home as i didn't live to far. Once i got to the garage shut the truck off and when tried to start it again this time and the engine light came on. Ran the codes and the following popped up P0882 & P0750. TCM power input signal and shift solenoid, at that time we reset the codes. Monday went back to try and it drove around the block fine shifting was good no engine lights. Tuesday night tried again and instantly shifted into 4 and engine light.

At this point not to sure what the problem can be can anyone help shed some light or has experienced this problem.

thanks

Not sure of what the problem is. The transmission goes in to "limp mode" when it senses a fault. In limp mode, it stays in 4th to allow you to "limp" to the side of the road and call for assistance.

My o9 did that in the fall. Ended up being a solenoid pack in the tranny. Truck had just come off warrenty in the summer. I was very unhappy. It would default to 4th in drive and would go into reverse with a bit of a bang. In Canadian funds my dealer told me it was going to cost around $1400 including parts, labour, a tranny service while they are in there and tax. I have a good relationship with my service dept and I made the case from them to get Chrysler Canada involved. At the end of it Chrysler paid for the parts and I paid the labour which was just under $600. I was happy.
Sorry for the long reply, sounds like a solenoid pack to me!

This is a common problem with Rams. Limp-in 4th gear is the default in response to noumeras problems. For Dodge to get the proper diagonistic, DO NOT TURN OFF THE ENGINE. If your 100 miles from home and need to get there, stop and start the engine and try driving each time. Not a cure, a way home to get to the repair, that can be several reasons. Luck
