I was told that there are & will always be jobs for Doctors & Undertakers

I think you could add anything to do with the food industry
Truck Drivers deliver food, & just about anything else, so if you have a Class A or Class B or even Class 3 drivers license, you can get a job. A clean driving record of course helps.
The trucks need to be loaded, so warehouse workers are needed.

The another good job is in the auto body industry, including painting

The only problem is you sort of need a friend to take you under their wing, so to speak, with truck driving & the auto body industries

I would not be running a Pilot/Escort Vehicle Service today if i didn't have truck driving experience, the 12 hour class to be Certified, (not really needed in California), & another experienced person willing to guide me along the way.

Default Jobs

Lot of work here in Pa. especially if you have a CDL. The Natural Gas Co. and related industries. The bad things is all the influx of people and the traffic and everything else that comes with it. Prices are going through the roof, specially housing. I'm afraid when they get done Pa will not be so pretty. Do not get me wrong it is good for the job situation, but I liked it the way it was before, like old saying you can not have you cake and eat it to.

If I come back to MI I would just live on the family farm. There is more than enough work to do year round and if I was there full time to do the crops as well I would get 100% of the profit which would be a comfy living, its just a little to slow of a lifestyle for me and at my age I don't think I'm ready to settle down and be a farmer for life haha

I never thought I would say this... you make it seem like it's time to move to Ca ...ugh...Canad.....ugh Canadia!!! Lol

Problem I'm havinn most is for the last 6 years I have worked in the performance automotive industry. Selling parts, dealing with customers, turning wrenches etc.. I can build you a high comp turbo BBC. That will run with some of the best of them, but its a TINY market in Ca and even the openings they don't believe a 23 year old has the skills experience to do it and their time isn't worth it to give me a shot Incas I'm fudging numbers like most people especially my age do. I understand that I need to be willing to work, which I'm more than willing to do, there's just no where that will give me a chance lol

In CA you have the problem of the illegals willing to do the nasty impossible jobs for $5 an hour. And not saying anything bad, but I'm not gonna break my back doing construction or turning wrenches for $4.50 an hour because that's the going hiring rate for the bottom linedont ask questions opening

A 2/2 schedule would be awesome! As long as i was gone for Krissi's "time" every month hahahaha

Persistence can be a huge asset. My best tech applied for a job with me a few years ago when I was kinda looking for someone, but wanted someone with the right credentials. He didn't have the 'credentials', but constantly phoned and emailed (every day or 2) until I finally hired him just to stop him from phoning! LOL

Turned out that he brought more to the table then he lacked. I've since discussed his 'tactic' with him. He simply wanted to make sure that I knew his name and knew he was interested when the time was right. It paid off for both of us in the end.

Keep hitting the pavement, and it doesn't hurt to check with places you've already visited. Many employers like to see people that are very interested in working for them, and are showing dedication to the task at hand.

If you can pass a drug test and can read and write to pass the underground safety class you can make 80K a year as a coal miner. Ads in the paper every Sunday.

well alot different circumstances where I am with the mining industry and this may not pertain to you as I am sure you arent moving to Ontario. But if you have a trade and some experience (be it an apprentice or licensed trades person) you would have no problem grossing 100+ a year in my area or in alot of natural resoruce type work across Canada. For instance the Pot Ash mines in Saskatchewan, Canada predict to be 15,000 workers short in 5 years and nearly 30,000 in 10 years... probably pushing 150+ a year out there without working everyday of the year like I tend to try and do...

Hopefully you can find some work in your field in an area you want to be in!!! I havent been watching the news much so I am not sure how the U.S. economy is but hopefully it can fully bounce back so people can get back to work!

i agree, most employers like to see someone who has applied more than once, shows they may actually want that job and are not just throwing papers at anyone and everyone. Not sure what SS4luck does but my dad builds houses, and has told me many times "you will never starve if you can work with your hands" at 21 I know most aspects of most skilled trades. So maybe something to look at.
