There is a HUGE difference...I have stock exhaust and it sounds like I have aftermarket exhaust. I'm sure your supposed to get better fuel mileage with these, but I don't. The reason being, I tend to give it more gas just to hear this thing GROWL. it sounds awesome, I highly recommend it!

Now that's what I'm talking about! I would love to toss in a functional shaker on my '97 5.9. But, reality sets in and I would settle with the Volant system with the additional air inlet pipe towards the front grille for extra air. but, I'm also torn with the idea of just running an old school round open air element. I've always liked that look myself.

I have not seen too many Injen CAI's yet but just ordered mine today in the wrinkle black color. Will take pics when I get her in but here's a little pic of what the system looks like.

Are you guys actually seeing any performance increases from these replacement intakes? I was just going to add a K&N filter to the stock housing and be done with it.

I can't really say if it was just from the intake, and more than likely not as people seem to stomp the gas more when they install them lol I averaged 21MPG (peak 22.1) on a road trip to Tennessee but I'm also running; shorty headers, Intake, and better flow exhaust plus I'm lowered which means less wind resistance across the under carriage of the truck. Overall they rarely increase your MPG's when by themselves, CAI are meant to be used in unison with other performance mods for gains in MPG's and HP

Put my Vararam CAI on today, good quality, simple install and looks totally old school bad ass. I really dont want to say it feels faster, mainly because I don't believe one can feel 15-20 HP in a 5000 pound truck, but I am very happy with it. I will try to post some pictures tomorrow, I trimmed my factory radiator cover to give it that factory look.
