Default OEM brake caliper any good?

Have a 2008 TRX4 1500 with 15,000 miles. pretty much only use it for weekend fishing and hunting in a 75 mile radius. Yesterday out of the blue front passanger brake stuck. Happened to be close to my work which has some open area in the warehouse. Pulled in there and pulled the wheel. A caliper piston was stuck holding on the brake. Rotor scored, everything smoking hot. I pulled out the brake pads thinking I could drive it to the shop and leave it for them on Monday.Mistake, it let the piston come out too far i guess and blew all the brake fluid. Funny I am having this problem because I am one of those guys that are easy on brakes. No riding the brakes, no accelerating to within a short distance and slamming on the brakes. Pads had almost no wear. So I told you all that to ask this. I don't need this happening in the remote areas I go to. Should I just have the OEM caliper rebuilt and call it a fluke? Or bite the bullet and upgrade to some aftermarket system on both fronts to gain reliability?

i think it is a fluke, but i would hate to see you get stuck in the middle of no where on my say so. 3 dodges and only replaced pads, never a caliper. you seem to drive so few miles i am wondering if the truck sits too much causing the problem.

occasionally any caliper can get a stuck piston. I had one once in a 97 Expedition with 100K miles. Just need to get it fixed and use it.

mopar replacement parts i feel always better due to there construction of being built, being a mechanic a dot 3 system (fluid) get over 300 degress when brakes apply.i think u just got a bad part,if u drive truck at least 2 times out of the month lets say, then u would be ok.there actuall componets in a caliper like a porpotioning valve, also at all times there is a certain amounf of fluid in the caliper for front and rear,it recommend to do a complete brake flush every 30 thousand miles to remove all the old brake fluid, due to deposits can screw up the caliper....hope this helps
