Default sold my motorcycle

I've got mixed feelings about having sold my motorcycle.

On one hand it has just been sitting in the shed, collecting dust, not being ridden, and going to hell. It was a 2006 that had less than 3300 miles on it. I just didn't have the time to ride it, and the time that I did have, I would rather spend with the fam, then out cruising around all alone.

On the other hand, I'm really gonna miss that chance to hit the open road, let her rip, and just enjoy the great outdoors. There is something to be said about being able to jump on the bike and just get away from it all.

(If I had a third hand) On the third hand, the cash I got in the sale is nice to have on hand. I guess it's too bad that there aren't really any mods that I wish to do on my truck right now LOL. I'm sure there is stuff out there that I'd like to have, I'm just not aware of what they are yet.

Below are a couple of pics...

Talking Oh well

Maybe you'll end up with another bike later. My wife loves riding, and is a real speed demon , hence my speeding tickets!!!! She is a real good passenger so we ride 2-up and it doesn't slow my pace at all.
Good luck.

You can always buy another

I thought about selling my buell about 6 months after buying it but my wife quickly talked me out of it. I'm glad she did. Even though I only put a few thousand miles on it a year, they are great miles

I could never sell my bikes, in fact the only reason I bought the ram was so I could throw one in the back and go on vacation.....

I'm kinda split on the whole thing.

I'm glad you sold it because you WANTED to. I can sympathize with selling it for family reasons, because I too did the same thing. When it was just me and my daughter she was too small to ride on it with me so I sold it, after completely re-doing it, and wound up using the money to buy her a new canopy bed and bedroom set.

On the other hand, I'm glad you didn't sell it because you HAD to. I'm actually in that position right now with one of my other vehicles to pay my attorney for doing nothing, during a year long custody battle. Know anyone that wants to buy a P71 interceptor? lol.

I'm too broke to drive much, but my Harley is cheaper on gas

I just sent it back to the shop, for a new speedometer, new speedo cable
new clutch cable
Get new tanks put on it
Had to replace the rear jug, it was cracked enough to spew oil & having new gaskets put on the rocker box gaskets

Waiting for them to button it up
I owe $1600

Now if we didn't have the helmet law, i could again enjoy riding

Thanks everyone. I'd rather someone enjoy riding the bike than just have it sit in my shed. 6 yrs old and had less than 3300 miles on it. I just don't have the time. Perhaps in a few yrs I'll get another and see how it goes

I had to sell my bike years ago and then 7 years ago bought another one, the kids are gone and my wife enjoys a nice cruise so even though I put very little mileage on each year I keep it for those few times I do get to go out. Never say never you could end up with another bike someday.

I sell my bike every year so I never get the 'wish I hadn't sold it' syndrome. The funds go to build next season's bike. I love to ride and I love to 'create' so it works well for me. Plus I usually end up making a profit so it's double-win.

this year's project is an old Suzuki GS550 cafe racer. I might keep this one...

...nah.

You'll get another one...we always do.

I went through the same thing

I miss riding street but felt guilty every time I took off and left the family on a weekend day and commuting isn't fun with all the idiot drivers. I'll get a Harley or maybe a Goldwing later when the kids are in college but I'm done with sportbikes. I still feel the pain every time I see an R1 though
