Default $77/yr for SiruisXM deal !

So my free trial subscription was coming up to expire and i've enjoyed the few stations i listen to enough to consider continuing the service. SO i dug around on the internet and found that people were having luck with calling and telling the person they wanted the $77/year deal (plus tax and US Royalty fee). They suggested if I was hassled about it to just call back another time to get another person OR ask to be transferred to the Cancellation Dept.

I figured I'd be ok to spend about 1/2 of what the LISTED renewel price was to keep my stations working. So I gave them a call and the guy was nice and started to tell me what deals I could get, and I just stopped him and asked for the $77/year deal. He asked me for the price again and I got a little worried but then i could sense he knew what I was going for, so he just put me on hold to speak with his manager and a minute later, he had it OK'd!!!

So with taxes and US Royalty fee (no way around these) it will be $90.xx for a year! He said it will renew at the current price (but he hinted that I could call back then to re-evaluate my service and pricing).

I know people gripe about the fees to listen to a radio...but I thought for those interested in keeping or renewing their service, this could save you enough for a tank of gas or something over the year!

Thanks for the heads up. I'm not sure how that will work on Sirius Canada, but will have to give it a shot when its time to renew.

It's great as there are no commercials and it works out in the bush.

My co-worker let hers expire and 2 months later she got a notice in the mail from Sirrus "begging" her to come back and subscribe. They offered her a year for $49!

so the lesson here is to let it expire and tell them that it is too expensive, etc.... then let them come begging you to come back. I like it, but i could live without it at the full retail price. If i could get it at a discount then i will consider renewing.

I listen to Sirius like 90% of the time, so when my 3 month free thing ran up, my dad called them and got my truck, his titan, and my mom's xc60R for like 110 total for the next year... they were originally asking close to 300 I believe.

heckling pays off

Damn, there was no expiration date for me they just automatically renewed my account. I listen to sirius all the time cause it sounds the best the clarity is unbeatable. So I just accepted the renewal fee of another year and waited for the statement from the bank. If I would have read this post sooner than in May I could have saved a bill. Ouch I'm glad other people are getting some savings out of sirius, maybe I need to call customer support and have a nice little chat with them!!
