Wow ....was quite a while ago I know fuel price I think last trip was around 2.75 I got aroiund 12 to 13 MPG at the time towing a 33 footer with a 4.7 (with several mods) and I believe it was around 400.00 then. AAA has a fuel calculator on their site if you wanna try it. It is fairly accurate within 50 bucks or so in my experience.
http://www.fuelcostcalculator.aaa.com/
Hope this helps a little. and good luck on your trip.

Suprised none said to grease your front end. For all I know Dodge could have sealed ball joints but check it out just the same.

I always grease the u-joints also, they're constantly moving on the trip and can really ruin the drive if one goes bad.

I & everyone else forgot one thing
Make sure your wiper blades are in good condition
Out here in california, we don't get a lot of rain, but wipers don't last long in the hot sun

I used my AAA auto club tow service last week, it has already paid for itself, had to get my Harley taken to a Bike shop 14 miles away

I agree with all of the above but "carwash" is always on my to-do list. I hate driving a dirty vehicle any great distance.

if U maintain your ride, trips are no big deal.

People tend to under maintain a ride till its to late.

owners manual gives GREAT tips on WHEN to change certain parts.

I see flat spares, bad fuel filters and bald, weather cracked tires every day.

I save $500 a month for my rides for maintenance. U do the math.............

Keep your spare key with you. I had that happen last year on my trip from so cal to texas when my key went dumb and would not work. Battery was fresh but just went haywire. Could not lock and at one time could not get alarm to stop going off. Chitty times
